this is a debate often brought up when debating how the money should be split between two fighters (most recently manny vs floyd, jones jnr vs hopkins). Fans in general see it as a fair way to settles money disputes.

i am wondering if this has ever happened before, if it hasn't....why not?

if it had, why does it not happen more often?

what is there to stop the board of control of an alphabet saying "50% to the champion, 25% to the challanger, 25% to the winner???"

Personally i think it would make fights far more intresting. One of the main motivations in boxing is sadly money, so fighters would train hard and fights would be better.

It would also make a fight between a journeyman and a prospect far more competative. I reckon Healy might have shown up in better shape agaisnt DeGale if there was a chance of him getting 25% of DeGales purse if he won.

On the other hand we would probably end up seeing allot more dodgy scoring then we currently see.

unsure of it ever happening before....

but i dont agree with the journeyman having the chance to get a prospects money. fair enough the best two in the world taking each other's purse but not learning fights.
