i want you guys oppinion on putting rounds in the bag.

floyd is a machine of winning rounds, thats what he has done for most of his career.

But a possibility is that pacquiao's effective aggresiveness can put floyd in a shell mode or go to the ropes and pacquiao doesn't even need to connect, just throw flurries that will catch the eyes of the judges and then floyd will lose some rounds or even get desperate and try to go for a ko and get cought

    do you see this happening?

The only way I'd see him losing his cool and doing that would be if WBC open scoring were in effect.

    ...will it be? :think

    That's a good question ^

But yeah, Mayweather obviously can't cover up or he'll be outpointed.

This was one way Atlas said Mayweather could find himself down on the scorecards. I don't think it's a likely scenario though. Depending on how he reacts to Pacquiao's power, I'd think Mayweather will be more aggressive than usual.

Was there open scoring in Mayweather vs. Guerrero/Canelo/Maidana I & II?

but he has been covering up and in the ropes lately.

pacquiaos best bet is to make sure floyd gets overly concious of his power early. bcuz mosley hit floyd hard enough to do that, but pacquiao won't take his foot ofthe gas pedal like shane

I think open scoring will only benefit Pac. If Floyd knows he's officially down he may try to get wreckless. If Pac knows he's down he WILL get wreckless.

Ah - I found out why.

According to Stephen Espinoza, the NSAC forbids open scoring even though WBC title bouts in most parts of the world use it.

That's why Mayweather has never fought with open scoring despite most of his contests being for WBC titles. He never leaves Vegas.

I was about ask if that was even allowed in Vegas. I noticed the open scoring would occur in Texas for example, never saw it in Vegas.

I personally think open scoring is stupid. Just IMO.

Every southpaw he's faced, he was more aggressive. And Pacquiao's aggressiveness will force Floyd to fight more. He walked Ortiz and Judah down. I don't remember how he fought Guerrero but I don't think he walked him down, too big maybe.

I can see the argument for it swinging both ways.

There is merit to both - it can suck the drama out if the guy that's up gets on his bike, yet it can also be an impetus for the guy that's behind to push the action.

pac's relentlessness will force Floyd into a slugfest which pac will win .................once Floyd sees himself behind on the scorecards he will MAYBE take more risks and than pac can take advantage of this but I don't think it will come down to this pac will just overwhelm him from the start

Open scoring is a no-no IMO. Because of this highlighted point.
