AJ has never been out cold before despite taking huge shots from proven hard hitters. It would be extremely reaching to call him a glass cannon.

It’s almost always Fury fans with those opinions. Imagine the hate AJ would get if he was dropped by Pajkic, Cunningham with their combined 60% KO ratio and imagine if he was made to do a dance by Firtha. Fury fans just ignore that and go straight to AJ being dropped by Klitschko, stopped by Ruiz via being hurt by temple equilibrium shots and rocked by Whyte.

When Fury touches canvas you've got a big hairy 270 pound problem on your hands. Poking a bear with a stick.

When AJ touches canvas you've got a giant wet noodle to eat up

Just saw him there and was reminded of a great glass cannon, Mamadou Thiam. 49-11, 46 KO wins, 9 KO losses. Was always entertaining.
Alejandro Garcia at 26-6-1 with 24 KO wins and 5 KO losses is another one.

I think Dmitry Kudryashov is the fighter with the biggest gap between his punching power and his ability to take punishment, his power is ridiculous but his chin is hilariously bad , I worry every time I see him take a jab! For me he's the ultimate glass cannon

    Frank Bruno

    he's 40-5, with 38/5
he has the record for this thread but i would not say he has a glass chin
was only stopped by murderous barrages of great punchers

AJ is on the same plane as guys like Artur Beterbiev or Wlad Klitschko - hard punchers that don't quite fit the glass cannon mold simply because their chin issues are overblown. All three of them have not china nor iron but average chins; they're vulnerable, but on most nights they aren't going to necessarily fold on a single punch from anybody other than a fellow nuclear hitter. Their punch resistance issues get exaggerated, all three of them, for a variety of reasons (whether because of their inclination toward looking panicked when hit, or because they happened to have a few isolated shaky moments in the amateurs or early pro careers that have left many fans salivating over waiting for the inevitable "KO waiting to happen" shoe to drop, or simply because of the intense scrutiny that goes along with being hyped and carrying heightened expectations, where "average" isn't good enough)

A true G.C. ought to be devastated by a stiff breeze, in more or less direct proportion with his own pop...or at least same ballpark. Those with A++ power and C+ whiskers don't really qualify. A power & F chin does... as well as B power and D chin to a lesser extent. (the latter I'd label quasi glass cannons)

Ageed. AJs biggest problems are psychological now. Beterbiev is as tough as they come mentally. You're going to have to KO him to stop his pressure, otherwise he's going to keep coming at you until he closes the show. Wlad was in a similar boat as AJ until Steward turned him into a jab/grab 1-2 machine. Steward would have loved to work with Joshua, and might well have been able to elevate him above what he has been post Ruiz. Although with that being said there's a very good chance Usyk would still have had his number.
