At MW against Juan Macias Montiel who towers over Kirkland at 6'1 and carries some decent power unlike Ishida. China chin Kirkland is going to bed early and brutally.

I don't know if I buy all of that. Wolfe made him do a lot of physical work but it didn't look like there was much focus in skills and adding things to his repertoire. She seemed more like a fitness person. He looked in shape for his fights without her.

Montiel can crack I say the first flush hook he lands will put Kirkland away.. Anne Wolfe was a great motivator but a long term detriment to Kirkland. She sped up his eroding punch resistance by having him spar HWs for no particular reason other than to say he sparred a HW. That’s why she hasn’t trained no one of note sense.

Yea, it´s one of these myths of boxing like "If fighter X shows up in shape".
Kirkland under Wolfe was just maybe more focused. But that was it.

Yeah...he seemed worse than ever. He had no idea when punches were coming or where they were coming from. Brutally rotten defense and even more rotten punch resistance. Time to hang it up.

Was that Montiel's usual style or did he just see what was happening and went for it? Seemed awkward.

You know Khan or Wilder being chinny kinda doesn't surprise you looking at the body shape any skinny legs but Kirkland always looked very powerfully built so all those muscle could spread the power of shots but my God he can't take a punch for sht.
