Wlad is like George Chuvalo compared to Glass-Jaw Rahman. He's never been utterly starched like Rahman has, multiple times.
This is his last shot at a title and honestly he better make every second of it count. What he should do is come forward and try to get inside of Wald. If he stay on the outside he's going to get jab to death and then the huge right is going to come out and its going to be lights our for Rahman. I think he has a punchers chance but I dont see him winning the fight at all at this point in his career and honestly I be shock if he wins !
That's absolute crap about Harrison, pretty much all the Brits were saying he was glass jawed. You said he was going to get knocked out practically every time he fought, and then tried to act like a boxing guru when the inevitable came atsch The stuff about Khans glass jaw wasn't just from his crap competition, which was no better or worse than the average prospect but from rumours that eminated from his sparring camps and also from the fact that he'd been known to be chinny as an amateur. All this is amusing enough but you're actually using the same ******ed **** with Haye and got called on it before his last fight where you said "it wouldn't surprise me if Haye got knocked out" but backed out of actually making a prediction...same scenario as with Khan and Harrison, you'll just keep saying vague **** like that and when it happens try to claim like you know something about the sport :nut
I notice you didn't argue with the rest of his post, wise move. Fancy mentioning WALDO and Chuvalo in the same sentence
what disappoints me as a wlad fan is that he might not get the satisfaction of ko'ing rahman. i mean it's bad enough that rahman is picked for wlad's mandatory. (something i wish he didn't do, he should have picked dimitrenko which would have at least met his WBO defense commitments) what i see happening since wladimir is very patient these days even when he doesn't have to be, is rahman tastes wlad's jab and gets negative. if rahman survives the round which wladimir starts using his right hand, i can easily see rahman quitting between rounds. i just hope when i watch this fight that wladimir hurts rahman early and quickly so he doesn't have a chance to quit between rounds! :-(
Of course, I argued with it. Rahman has been stopped MORE times, and FAR more brutally, than Wlad ever has. There should be little doubt about who has the worse chin, and it's not Wlad. The fight this weekend willl prove it conclusively when Rahman gets starched yet again.:yep
atsch both these guys have china chins, the Rock has been stopped about 4 times (Lewis, Tua, Maskiev X2) while Wlad has been stopped 3 times (Purrity, Sanders, Brewster) I wouldn't be surprised if Wlad went down again after all he got KTFO by Purrity....:rofl:rofl:rofl
The thing other than power Rahman has going for him is the jab. In his younger days his jab seemed more effective, it's how he set Lennox Lewis up. But Toney was able to come over Rahman's jab with his right hand easily. And Wladimir definitely has the better jab than Rahman, Wladimir wins by TKO 7. Rahman needs to use a jab and a strategy to win this fight.
sorry but wlad is gonna be the one depositing Rahman into press row. Rahman has plenty of experience with that Klitschko haters will just have to settle for discrediting another wlad ko win.
Don't think it's a case of glass jaw, this is the heavyweight division, any big punch can end it. Though I do agree that Rahman's ability to take a punch is poor and when you have that against an insane puncher like Wladimir then it's a KO and an early one. Waldimir by early brutal KO.
If this was Rahman from 5-6 years ago then we'd have a fight here. But a 2008 Rahman looks shot to me. He is a slow plodder who is begging to be hit. In his win over Lawrence he looked poor and then he was but a few rounds away from being knocked out by Toney. Rahman hasn't looked good for a few years. Wlad will knock him out when he starts to let his hands go. Rahman's best chance is to jump on Wlad early but if he lets Wlad settle in and start to put his punches togherther then its over. Maybe in 30 years someone will look at Wlad's record and a ko over former champ Rahman will look good but in reality it means little-Rahman's a ko waiting to happen and Wlad will do so in about 4-5 rounds.
not his fault Povetkin tripped over a frggin tree root. He's trying to fight the best but things happen. There were rumors this was a financial pullout waiting on his contract to expire with Sauerland so he can make more. Wlad will definitely be fighting either Povetkin, Valuev-Holyfield winner or Haye next. I would prefer he try to unify next, then Haye, then Povektin. But if he somehow managed to take WBA belt, Chagaev now becomes his madatory :verysad I think the speed difference (both hand and feet) will be obvious right away. Rahman was always plodding with very ordinary handspeed. Now, he makes Sam Peter look like a prime Ali based on his fights with Lawrence and Toney. Im not happy about this fight but he's a nice name to have on the record but that's as far as I'll take it. It's a showcase fight, nothing more. Rahman is a top 20 hw but he's clearly a few steps below Thompson and Sultan. Wlad should dominate him the whole way and knock him out no later than 6. I expect a good performance and will be disappointed if he lacks aggression or looks passive. I wonder if Povetkin will take a serious tune up fight or two. He really needs more work.
Rachman knocked Corrie Sanders the **** out....Sanders knocked Wlad the **** out....so i wouldn't count Rachman out....Wlad is the bet, but we've seen him get blasted also so let's not act like Wlad is superman....
