The meaning of glass jaw is poor punch resistance. It doesn't matter that Solis got hit on the temple by a glancing blow. The bottom line is he went down and out from a punch that basically just grazed him. That's the DEFINITION of a glass jaw.

No, it's not. It's the definition of bad balance, poor footwork or something like that but not a glass jaw. Vitali said the punch didn't hurt him, Solis said he wasn't bothered by it, he showed that he could easily get up, he wasn't close to being stunned or hurt, the WBC acknowledge it was nothing to do with the punch which landed but an injury to the leg.

Yet you insist on saying he has a glass jaw.

Terrible "chin checking". You should be ashamed to call yourself a "chin checker".

He was put on the canvas by a glancing blow, a punch that barely grazed him. That doesn't give me much confidence this guy can take a punch.

Maybe his chin isn't proven china, but it's surely as suspect as hell. Let me ask you this - if Solis gets taken out again, you gonna give us our props for calling it right??

Jack is right. If poor punch resistance is the meaning of a glass jaw, then Vitali showed a glass jaw when he fought Lennox Lewis (beeing cut from punshes = poor punch recistense).

What happened to Sollis was a knee injury, it is not even sure he went down because of the punsh, it can be that his knee gave in when he wobbled beforehand.

Jack that nothing punch is what set in motion the issue with the knee. CHEF was in the ring and said Solis was hurt by it. The guy hasn't fought anyone with a pulse at Heavyweight and in his first big test he gets knocked down by a grazing punch. Solis does have a fragile Glass Jaw. If he disgraces the sport by continuing on he will get brutally KOed over and over. Solis has no Chin. None.

Obviously glass jaws exist, it's just that most of you act like a whining stack of ****s the whole time. It was originally Rico's idea and tolerable/mildly amusing as one little eccentricity of one little poster. Now all you little mincers hop on the bandwagon because it's about the only thing that gives your existence meaning here when you've probably never taken a ****ing shot in your life. And all these guys with glass jaws would cut you a new **** if you said it to them of the street.

Now go back to sniffing your boyfriend's pants.

Actually, I was the first chinchecker on this site. Rico did take it to a new level, however!

CHEF is a blatant liar if he says that. Aside from that, the referee, Vitali and Solis have all said it wasn't a hurtful punch, so why take CHEF's word instead of theirs? The WBC, who had people ringside, also say that it was solely an injury.

Yeah, he was knocked down after a punch but the fact is, he wasn't hurt by it. When you look at the video, it's hard to tell when he was hurt. It's entirely plausible he hurt his knee, he got hit and then, because of the knee injury, lost balance. Why would he have a glass jaw if that was the case? You just assume that he was being knocked down and the injury occurred then but considering the fact he was clearly not hurt in the slightest, probably means I'm right.

Even if you are right, so what? It was a glancing blow and he wasn't hurt from it. Plenty of tough guys have had balance issues in the past. People like Aaron Pryor, who had a granite chin, or Naseem, who was never badly hurt in his career yet down many times. Typically, guys with unorthodox movement will get knocked down because they're off balance when they step into their shots. Is it a sign of a bad chin? No.

As for Solis' chin, I don't know how good it is. It's unproven. The fact you talk about the Vitali knockdown and use it as proof he has a "glass chin" is ludicrous. You know nothing about chins or boxing and that's just a fact.

The funny thing is, if this was 50 years or so ago, both Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali would be called glass jawed. The knockdowns against Bonavena and Cooper would have the likes of Rico relishing over the prospect of them having their "glass chins shattered" and you know that's absolutely true. He'd probably mention it throughout their careers too.

Like I said, I have no issues with people talking about chins but at least get it right if you're going to base an entire gimmick around it. I genuinely don't think Rico knows much about boxing and Zakman doesn't either. I'm sure he'll reply with "I've been watching boxing since you were shitting yourself as a baby" and that may be true, but it doesn't mean he knows anything about it.

The denial of a glass jaw is similar to the denial of the Holocaust.

The deniers always have a hidden agenda, to deny the truth.
