Pele kicked him in the ****ing mouth and that actually is a shot that would KO most people and yet Liddell's ass was on the deck for less than a second. The punch Guy hit him with sounded like a 12 gauge had just gone off in the arena and he sprang up from that one, Overeem beat him up but only dropped him to a knee from a temple shot , and Rampage put a beating on him in the first fight and it was a corner stoppage rather than a ref stoppage or knockout. These were the only times he hit the deck in his prime and he never looked seriously hurt once during that and he ate numerous more shots that didn't even faze him. And these are punchers we're talking about that were bombing him and only managing to stun him for a nanosecond. Look at it this way, you have to have an iron jaw to block punches with your face for an entire career and only get knocked out when you're in your late thirties.
Bader was mid air when the ortiz punch landed. being mid air means you take more than the full brunt of the punch.
He wasn't "mid-air", at all, dummy. He was going straight back (wrong idea to avoid punches genius) with his glass jaw exposed and Tito hit him with the ugliest right handed.....something punch that I've ever seen. It's a ******ed upperhook with almost no momentum behind it, it lands on Bader's eye, and he folds like a marionette that just had his strings cut. What a disgraceful, abysmal glass chin.
Andrei Arlovski - end thread. All that talent chained down by an unfortunate Achilles Heel. If this guy's chin was one step above wet tissue paper........
This drivel above is the standard strawman argument employed by the "that punch would have KOed anybody" crowd and frankly, it's cliche and not the least bit relevant to my opinions on punch resistance. Whether or not I've ever been hit is completely unrelated to my chin checking abilities which, I must admit, are generally infallible.
Luckily I wasn't making that argument so this entire post is a relative non-sequitur. Well, then my apologies. I must defer to you and your obvious knowledge on human physiology and physics, as should we all! Not every day that we meed someone with "generally" infallible abilities.
yea i agree james thompson is a all time great of glass jaw remember this. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHH8vks3IXU[/ame]
So not only you're insinuating Forrest has a "glass jaw" but Keith Jardine has "feather fists". Mate, **** off. And all these other ****s who never post in the forum but are just appearing to say HUR HUR GLASS JAWS EXIST IN BOXING, **** off too. I have no problem with chinchecking, but it pisses me off when you've got twats bringing that **** into this forum and pissing on the parade. It's disrespectful, it's not funny, stick to the general.
All bull**** aside, his chin is the most depressing. He is a great fighter it's just that damn chin. :hop
