The statistics and facts speak for themselves. Of Keith Jardine's 13 Octagon appearances he notched exactly one KO victory, even when facing glass jawed luminaries such as Houston Alexander. Who was that stoppage victory over? Glass jawed Griffin, that's who. Wake up, deniers, glass jaws exist in MMA and the chin checkers will continue to point out fragile mandibled fighters in all combat sports.

NO ONE! stands and trades with Chirs Leben and makes it out conscious. Hagler, Lamotta, Chuvalo all would've fell victim to that punch :deal.

Aren't you the clown who claimed Leben's "left hook" is as devastating as Filipovic's high kick?

No wonder you have no vcash. None.

Saying fighters who get ko'd repeatedly are prone to being ko'd. Well done, you are my hero....:rofl

In Shamrock's case, the reason for having a good jaw earlier in his career should be attributed to STERIODS.

Steroids don't enhance punch resistance, at all. Quit listening to the Mayweathers.

when Liddell fought against punchers he usually got rocked= good chin not iron.

Placing someone who you claim has a iron chin in the glass jaw category is pretty stupid, no matter how awful his chin became post prime.

You're judging glass based on the boxing formula. When boxers get repeatedly dropped, particularly by less-than-devastating punchers, they probably have a fragile glass mandible. MMA fighters are fighting with gloves that are only to protect the hands and they lead to so many knockdowns that even iron-chinned warriors like Anderson can be caught off-guard and stumbled by the likes of Sonnen. Therefore, when judging glass jaws in MMA we really should look at people who get seriously hurt by average or subpar punches, not guys like Chuck who got hit with some of the heaviest artillery ever and were never significantly stunned by any of it.

By your standards the only iron MMA jaws would be Hunt, Cabbage, and Penn and, as stated before, it's unfair to expect anyone to never be dropped and these guys never were (Hunt and Cabbage in their primes, weren't). Does it make them the only granite chins? No, it makes them gods among men who stand above all-else in the realm of mandibular fortitude.

When Pele kicked him square in the mouth he fell down, popped instantly to his feet, and proceeded to hit Pele some more. Anything but iron goes completely out from a high kick and history shows that.

And no, it's not stupid at all. At the end of Chuck's reign did he not have a glass jaw? Did he get one-punched four times by Rampage, Rashad, Rua, and Franklin? Did feather fisted Jardine drop him? All of that indicates a glass jaw and yes, you can go glass after having had the opposite. It happens due to accumulated punishment, and in Chuck's case, a poor lifestyle filled with drugs and alchol.

Pele dropped chuck twice with kicks the second time chuck stalled for time with a takedown. But yeah, getting dropped by a kick to the head is not something that should be held against you even if it was a middleweight doing the kicking.

so what about being hurt by overeem with punches and knees? what about Guy mezger dropping chuck with one punch? what about Rampage repeatedly hurting chuck with punches(in 2003)?

He was hurt by all of these shots, and it was Liddells quick recovery that saved him along with liddells wrestling to stall when he needed to.

Juan Manual Marquez has a good chin but its not great, its his ability to recover that has allowed him to finish fights like the first pac fight that reall sets him apart from others. same as joe louis, he got dropped but recovered quickly. I think it takes an extreamly determined fighter to do this, chuck is that type of fighter he doesnt have quit in him even when his chin lets him down. Remember I'm not saying Chucks chin is weak just that its not equal to the great chins of MMA: Hunt, Hendo, Anderson, BJ, Gomi, ect...

You cant count past prime ko's against someone who's style is to take two to land one. Once Liddells chin started to soften his fighting style was useless. Liddell does have his wrestling as a final resort but it seems that he is not comfotable being a groundfighter- Chucks a brawler they have short careers. amazing that chucks prime lasted as long as it did.

What are you smoking? Even Tommy Hearns's right hand couldn't put Hagler away. As a matter of fact, Tommy broke his right hand hitting him. Prime Hagler stiffens up Leben like a piece of driftwood.:yep
