They chickened out of the Wilder fight in order to go for the easier route of fighting for a vacant title, which should rightfully still belong the HW champion Tyson Fury.

Karma is a ***** and now he probably will never fight for a title ever again.

I agree with a lot of this. They wasted no time in forcing Fury to drop one of his belts knowing he was contractually obligated to face Wlad next.

They also passed on a Wilder fight thinking, and rightfully so, Martin would be a much easier path to a title.

Now he is injured and probably out for a while then he'll have to work his way back into contention again. Glazkov and Duva were big losers last night and it doesn't seem like anyone other than them is feeling bad about it.

Let's assume Glazkov won last night, he was made betting favourite, he would have been a world champion and be in a very strong position.

He may well have had a unification fight with Wilder, after a full training camp and been paid very well instead of just getting a shot at Wilder for not very much money and at extremely short notice.

It made business sense in my opinion and after all this is prize fighting.

It was not extremely short notice, he was given the offer and date a long way out. He waited on the Fury vs Wlad result hoping fir the upset to steal the belt. If Wlad won he would have fought Wilder

Even those who don't believe in karma whatsoever had to know Glazkov was due for a break that didn't go his way. Not quite so literally, perhaps. But he was due nonetheless.

The Haymon hoodrats should be glad Glazkov went the Martin route, just look at the trouble the useless Wilder had with the bum Pole Szpilka.

But yeah, Glazkov had his fair share of favorable decisions over the years. No tears for him.

Duva on the other hand was doing right by her fighter. The bum Martin is even more bummy than Wilder. Of course you take that fight.

Nice post. Amazing how 90% of the posters on this site can't see the business side of the sport. If Galzkov would have beat Martin he would increased his payday vs Wilder at leat 400 to 500 %, maybe more.

Random figures plucked out of the middle of no where, Glazkov could have fought a champion and attempted to gain a belt legitimately but instead chose to fight for a vacant title.

Even if he had won vs Martin he still wouldn't have been a champion, to be a champion you have to beat a champion. The only legit belt holders at HW are Fury and Wilder, unless you count Ruslan Chagaev as a champion as well? :patsch:rofl

Yes, I kind of dislike Duva actually in general, something just seems off to me about her, the way she's masquerading as one of the "good guys" but pulls the same kind of dishonest BS.

I feel bad for Glazkov... to hurt your knee in a fight that had huge ramifications on his future for himself and family is a bad thing.... hope he can recover and come back... I do not think he has shown the ability to be a top flight fighter.. his future is limited due to there being lots of better fighters than himself, but I still hope he can make enough money in this tough profession...

How so? I know it´s not much but according to her, Glazkov got more vs Martin than he was offered vs Wilder.

And too bad Martin got what he doesn´t deserve.
