Boswell-Butler or Cooper March 17 Not sure here, because boxrec has Butler listed, but we have a report on ESB that it is going to be Smoking Bert. In any event, Bos should win it, but at 40, he has to take his step up. Glazkov- Bahtov, March 26 Bakhtov is a perfect opponent. After his victories over Kretschmann, he has regained some standing. Glad Glaskov is jumping on the fast track. Very nice, in my oppinion. Simba-Machado March 26 I know nothing about these guys accept that they are two power punching Africans. Might be fun. Dimenkrenko-Sosnowksi March 26 The winner gets another shot, the loser probably disappears Saglam-Wallisch April 1 Two undefeated German prospects (Saglam by way of Turkey) go at it. Saglam has much more experience, but not at a world class level. Don't know anything about these guys, but it should be interesting. Teper-Hawkins April 1A Another German Prospect takes on the durable gatekeeper Hawkins Helenius-Peter, April 2 There have been some reports on here that Peer has regained some weight after the latest Klit loss. Helenius has beat some very competition for his short career including Gammer, Olukun, Brewster, Greg Tony, and Levin. Still, Peter will be his toughest test to date, and by no means a give me. Liakovich-White April 9 The White wolf is back yet again. Johnny White is at least a decent opponent. Will he finally get it all together and make another run? I won't hold my breath, but we can hope. Laeapai-Okhello, April 17 Give Leapai credit- he continues to seek out good mid-level competition Okhello is no world beater, but he's got world title fight experience against Maskaev. Olukun-Takam April 29 Olukun has rapidly become an "opponent" type fighter, and yet has decent wins over Brewster and Airsch, hinting at hidden talent that he could bring out against fellow African Takam, whose only loss is to Greg Tony. Two guys who 's careers could go either way. I have developed a liking for Olukun, and hope he makes the best of this.
Wow. Especially excited about the Helenius and Glazkov fights. I was hoping Glazkov woul take a Pulev Helenius fast track and hopefully this is the beginning of his starting to step up. Liakhovich is free of Don King now isn't he? Hopefully his career won't be filled with back to back 18 month lay offs like King did. He could be a player if he gets to top form.
I knew you'd be excited about that one. Some of the other winners of fights on this list would be make good Glaskov opponents too. I always hoped Liakovich would have an encore. He said that he was hurt against Valuev, and I take that at face value, but he's not getting any younger, and if he wants another run, the time is now.
I haven't seen much of Bakhtov but people say he has a weak chin. Is that the case? Liakhovich's skills are quite good when he's at his best but he's been out a year again and is 34. Now or never is right. I think he could give Povetkin, Adamek, Haye all a run for their money.
Seems to be one of those rare fighters in which it has improved with agae- he stood up to Kretschmann's big punches twice. That being said, he does have a couple of stoppage losses to opponent type fighters, as well as Sinan Sam.
Yeah the Kretschmann fights are the ones i remember him from and i haven't seen it but he went the distance with JCG but i looked and he was stopped by Montana ans Sam. kind of weird Same with Liakhovich though. He got destroyed by Harris but then looks to be made of granite against Brewster.
