I saw him fight in Person, against Clinton Woods back in 2006, he gave a very good and exciting performance. It's a shame such a guy has to leave the sport but the time had come.

Mad respect for Johnson. . . One of boxing's true warriors, and good guys. . .

Had a very consistent career - very competitive at hte highest level of the sport. . .

Yeah, not an ATG of our generation, but one of the better, more consistent boxers who will always be fondly remembered by any real boxing fan.

Don't think I've ever seen anybody hate on Johnson.

He's the epitome of what I would call a "blue collared" boxer. . . And a "fringe world class" guy. . . A- level boxer for the better part of a decade. . .

Lol I still remember the Ottke/Johnson fight (lol, which btw, I thought could have gone either way). . . Hahha and how Johnson's head was LITERALLY STEAMING after the fight. . .

Yeah it's really a shame that he was on the **** end of the stick for most of his close fights. Did he ever get a gift win? He beat Dawson comfortably in their first fight. I was outraged

    The Road Warrior's signature quote...

"I'm not the best; I'm just a guy who is willing to fight the best."

Tells you everything you need to know about the guy, doesn't it?

One of my favorite fighters. If he was closer to 33 years old than 43 years old tonight he would have made the ring canvas look like a Jackson Pollock splatter-work with Fonfara's blood providing the color. Johnson fought everybody. I'm glad his career was productive and hopefully he will still be around professional boxing in some capacity.

anyone knows where he officially announced he's retiring. only the great benard hopkins was able to stop in 70 fights. that's a tough son of a *****, and underappreciated fighter.
