It just occurred to me the title could be mistaken by someone who didn't watch FNF last night as meaning that Glen had said "no mas" and bailed out of a match, with the "What A Warrior" bit amounting to bitter sarcasm.

Maybe a rephrasing is in order? "Glen Johnson Hangs em Up - What a Warrior He Was"? :think

Cause ur a phuking clown. What's a warrior to u someone who takes beating after beating after beating. Not mine

For me true warrior is someone who finds a way to win no matter what and the
Only one I know of is Floyd. No matter what type of fight he will come out on top like always.

A great warrior who provided us with some memorable nights in the sport, not the greatest but sure was one of the best. Glad he has the sense when to walk away and what a record he left us with

    won 51 (KO 35) + lost 17 (KO 1) + drawn 2 = 70
    rounds boxed 486 KO% 50

    10 World title fights

    In his last two fights?

Cmon.....if Green was in front of him last night it woulda been a KO win.

Johnson still has his power, no less vs Fonfara than vs Green. Heck, probably no less than vs RJJ.
He lost the pep in his step before the RJJ fight, and it has steadily gotten less with each fight.
However, there is still a certain type of opponent he will beat. But, no version of GJ beats Froch or Bute or Ward or BHOP. He's not that kindof fighter, never was.
He's a deadlock HOFer for sure and we'll miss him, but being competitive with a stand and trade Froch and a wannabee slick chinachinned Green never equated to being a top contender. And being fourth in line for a Bute fight proved that even Bute did not want to put that schooling on him.
Luckily his iron chin kept him healthy and his strong R hand and stiff jab kept guys like Froch and Bute honest.

Let's keep this a farewell CHAMP thread rather than a Bute and Fonfara are garbage thread.:nono

It's a crying shame he got ripped off by a crooked ref in his fight with Calzaghe. Same as Peter Manfredo except Johnson could have won.

Doubt he'll retire, especially after losing to Fonfara. Who is this guy? Why did Glenn fight him in his own hometown, I think G. Johnson tries to live up to his nickname too much.

I'd like to see him give Roid jones a rematch, see how that plays out :)

I hope I'm somewhat known around here enough that my title wasn't seen as sarcasim. Johnson was like my favorite fighter for like 10 years, but by most of the responses (and the fact people probably knew he retired before reading my thread) it seems confusion has been avoided.
