Johnson doesn't have the counterpunching skills to beat Froch. Hes going to run around the ring with his high guard while Froch throws combos and uses lateral movement and at the end of the fight people will say Johnson looked old and needs to retire.

Quicker paced version of Abraham/Froch.

 

you are comparing a 160 pound abraham to a 175 pound GJ? Abraham has been exposed and should no longer fight 168. his power and strength is what carried him at 160.

GJ has fought the best at 175 and the only question is can his body fight the same at 168.

comparing aa and gj is being negligent.

at 175, aa gets destroyed by cloud, rj, tarver and dawson.

at this point, aa might have a hard time against sm at 160.

why do you think that some fighters like hagler never moved up to 168?

 

Froch's greatest tool against Abraham was feints. Arthur fell for them each and every time.

Abraham is a low work rate fighter to begin with, the feints had him throwing even less.

Thing is, Johnson doesn't fall for feints, and a jab has never successfully kept him at bay or shut him down. He gets in regardless of what he has to walk through.

This isn't going to be any kind of Abraham walk in the park for Froch.

Johnson also doesn't give a **** where he hits you, that right hand is going to come over the top and land on just about every part of Froch's dome.

 

I'm going to save this thread in my bookmarks to call some of you guys out after the fight is done, you can be sure of that.

 

Johnson and Abraham have a similar approach. Johnson is just faster and moves his hands more. Same high guard, arm punches from behind that guard. Abraham is a proven KO puncher, Johnson- not so much.

I'll bet you Froch fights the same fight he fought against Abraham.

I'm not sure what you're getting at with the Hagler thing. Hagler was just disciplined and didn;t need to move up in weight, nor was SMW a class taken very seriously and didn't even exist according to all sanctioning bodies when Hagler was boss.

I tend to favor youth in these matchups and thus I am favoring Froch by decision.
