    Why?

Groves is one of our best prospects, why you want him to lose to old ass Johnson?

I dont see Johnson turning down the paycheque, do you?

he wants to ***** himself out to get bashed up on an allegedly show, so be it

I think Johnson is done personally.

You could see it in his eyes after the Froch fight that the game really was up at the top level, the shut out defeat to Bute and a loss to Fonfara will only have reinforced that.

Well into his 40's, over 70 fights, many of them hard ones... bound to take it out of you.

Before Johnson lost to Fonfara we'd be saying it's a great fight for Groves.

As much as Groves has improved, people will still harp back to the Anderson fight, where he was waving his arms about like a raver on heat most of the time.... Johnson can apply pressure and shorten his punches up.

Can't see George getting him out of there by any means, there's a few quid to be made here.

any chance you would retire from here? this is an ok-ish fight thats about right for groves as he transitions from uk/euro level to euro/world level. expect about three or four more fights like this before he moves to the fringes of the top of the division.

Whenever I go back and watch the Anderson fight, george was never as bad as I remember.

That was a comprehensive retirement speech.

Groves asked people on FB if they thought it was a tough fight and I said he was fighting him for the name and that he is no longer the same fighter.

Groves will look to outbox him and Johnson is a warrior, he'll oblige him for as long as it goes but Johnsons time as a top fighter always on the edge of a fighting for or being a world champion is done.

It would be fun if Johnson put the hurt on him and he goes to the well just one last time.

Thing is this is a good fight for George.

He's young and going up against a guy who's been in there with EVERYBODY, has a great chin and will keep coming forward.

With only one link you made the best, most coherent post of this thread.

This fight is what it is, a young prospect/contender against an ageing B+ level fighter. Who gave Froch a tough fight not that long ago but has seemingly missed a step since.
