I had Johnson winning 7-5. He turned on the heat over the second to fourth round, then rallied starting with the tenth to sweep the last three rounds of the fight. Dawson's best showings were in the mid-rounds.
I had it 7-5 Dawson. There were clear rounds both ways, but round by round I thought Dawson came out ahead.
The people hae spoken. I had it GJ 7-5. GJ was the aggressor and he landed the harder shots and hurt Dawson. It's one thing if the more active guy lands the harder shots but that wasn't the case.
Johnson 7-5 but it was damn close and we have seen fights that were much less picky go the opposite way recently. The scorecards were way off though.
I had it even by the 11th round and whoever won the 12th round won the fight, and I thought Dawson won the 12th round, so I had him winning by a point. It was a very close fight that could of went either way, I felt like Dawson could of fought way better.
If anyone won the fight 8-4, it was Chad. Although the scorecards weren't what the people think, Dawson was the winner. Chad is still WBC champ. Sorry Glen. The people love Glen Johnson and he'll be in another big fight soon.
As you know from my post in your prediction thread, I picked Dawson to stop Johnson in the 10th. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1554797#post1554797 Having watched the fight twice now, I scored it 115-113 to Johnson. He won rounds 3/4/5 and 9/10/11/12. He also won his rounds more decisively than Dawson won his rounds. Dawson was hurt at least twice. Glen was never in any trouble. Exposed is too strong a word, given how tough a customer Johnson is, but Dawson definitely drops a small notch in my estimation. BTW, welcome back from your brief haitus. Don't let those ****wits in the lounge get to you. Remember that this is basically a boxing site. Keep on postin' ! :good
I started a thread a few days ago regarding steroids. Basically I just asked for opinion on whether they should be allowed or banned. An hour or two later, it had 30 or so responses. Next morning, it was gone. I wondered why so I e-mailed admin to ask what happened. No reply. I emailed them again a day or two later. I still haven't heard from them.
I love Glen Johsnon and have been impressed with Chad Dawson, but I CANNOT see how Dawson didn't win that fight. Im not saying Johnson didn't make the fight, but the quality and volume of crisp and accurate combinations landed by Dawson cannot be overlooked and Johnson gave away too many close rounds by just following Dawson and not doing quite enought. 115-113 or 116-12 Dawson are the only acceptable scores to me. It wasn't a difficult fight to score. People just need to realize that you can fight a great fight and still lose. It sucks but it happens (just ask Raphael Marquez, who I feel DID lose the fight because he was dominated in the 12th).
