    OOhhh nice thread!

Well since Calzaghe embrassed the man who knocked Johnson the F out I say Joe.

Calzaghe. Styles make fights and Calzaghe is the wrong style for Johnson, way too fast!

Calzaghe would have beaten him back then fairly easily. Johnson wasn't all that formidable around 2000 (lost to Sheika, who Calzaghe stopped in the next fight). If they had fought in 2008/2009, I'd give Johnson a much better chance, though I'd still favor Calzaghe by a close decision.

Styles make fights, but look at the form line.
Calzaghe beat Sheika who in his fight before beat Johnson
Calzaghe beat Hopkins easily beat Tarver who beat Johnson
Ottke beat Johnso and Calzaghe always did better than Ottke against respective opponents.
Vanderpool beat Johnson who but lost to Lacy who lost to Calzaghe.
Hopkins beat Johnson and Calzaghe beat Hopkins.
I could be ridiculous and say Calzaghe beat Kessler who beat Froch who beat Pascal who beat Dawson who beat Johnson. That would be silly, but you get the idea about form lines

There the fights I can remember off the top of my head, but I think that clearly answers the question.

Calzaghe at worst would score a wide UD

As someone has already stated when was Glen in his prime, when they should have fought Johnson had a frankly poor record at that weight (168lbs) whick makes claims that Calzaghe ducked him quite pathetic (Calzaghe would win 12-0), Joe would have to cut his legs off to make 160lbs so that would end in a Johnson victory. At 174lbs around 3 years ago i would choose Calzaghe to win something like 9-3 after being put down early and having to adjust to his opponent.

Bad style matchup for Johnson...I don't foresee him being able to win on points vs Calzaghe, and he doesn't have the power to stop him.

Calzaghe wide on points. Way to fast, 2 many angles. Johnson would be game alrite and joe wouldn't drop him but i think his face would be busted up badly at the end.

Calzaghe beat Hopkins easily?. Subjective or objective opinion now ?. Joe won the fight and Hopkins spoiling tactics pissed me off, but c'mon he did not beat him easily. Even joe was looking nervous as the scores were been read out.

Calzaghe wide UD. No chance of a knockout on either side, Johnson isn't a noted puncher and Calzaghe has a very good chin, plus great recuperative abilities and the ability also to adapt and won't end up getting sort with the same shot twice should he get put down early.

Calzaghe might take a few rounds to get in gear which Johnson might steal. He might end up putting him down in the first 2 rounds and might have a decent little lead, but Calzaghe would adapt and establish his range and timing, and gradually become sharper as the fight goes on as he counters and boxes Johnson from outside, stepping in and out with combinations and using his superior speed of hand & foot to great affect.

Altough Johnson had a better over all career. Calzaghe is more talented plus stylewise has the upperhand

Joe Calzaghe on points. But Johnson gives him a tough fight.
