Calzaghe but it would have been a GREAT fight, nonstop action, constant pressing from Johnson and Calzaghe always moving, using his angles to evade and score points.

It would have been, which is why I was pissed at Joe C for not making it happen when it could have...both times.

Why then did Joe avoid Johnson? Why?

Perhaps Joe wasn't 100% sure Johnson was shot before their proposed fight as he was with Jones and Hopkins......Really it's a no-brainer. LOL

Calzaghe, in his prime, would no question win on points.

Joe avoided Johnson a few times due to injuries (allegedly, though I have no way of proving that the injuries were legitimate). And then he avoided him because he was busy TKOing the guy who had just beaten Johnson. Good enough for me...

Perhaps you haven't seen the fight. In no way was Eubank close to beating him.

That's how I see it. Wish we could have seen it happen. Calzaghe by solid UD, there would have been a dicey moment or 2 for him, but he'd win a comfortable UD.

Joe did pull out against Johnson due to injury more than once, but lets remember he pulled out before fighting Lacy due to injury and pulled out 3 times before facing Sheika, and we know how those fights went. Joe was an injury plagued fighter, who only liked to fight when completely fit. Good luck to him because the results paid off.
But with Johnson, he hadnt done enough, when fighting at SMW losing to guys like Vanderpool, and Sheika who Calzaghe beat.
When Calzaghe was ringside with a view to fighting Johnson, in Johnsons third fight with Woods. Johnson lost and blew his chance. Fighting a guy with losses in the double figures when you have beaten guys who have beaten Johnson, isnt really that big a deal of a fight

What when Eubank lost a wide decision and had a count against him in round 10 :patsch:lol:. Troll
