Glen has been on the wrong side of some decisions, I didn't think the Chad v Glen 1 fight was all that controversial, I thought that was the right call. Glen also has at least one good turn on his record as well, I though Tarver ran away with the first fight, even throwing majority arm punch combos. :think
http://www.boxingforum24.com/showthread.php?t=416809&page=30 Had Johnson winning: PinoyProdigy, |A|C|S|, Superkalleb, TheRoadWarrior, artful, tliang1000, Redwood Had it a draw: IntentionalButt, des3995, king khan, Hatesrats, Sister Sledge, The Professor, Robney, VanillaKilla, Drew101, bazza12, Samurai's Slice, Shotty73195 Had Fonfara winning: Vyborg1917, NoCoolFool?, Exactabox, PartALLthatTImE - but pretty much all of them by the narrowest of margins, 96-94, and they all commented on how bad the wide scorecards for Andrzej were. 7 Johnson, 4 Fonfara, 12 draw - and nobody agreed with the official scorecards. (97-93x2 and 99-91 Fonfara) 19 of 23 people giving their opinion in the RBR thread alone thought it shouldn't have been a Fonfara win, let alone wide as it was. All 23 saw Fonfara winning a maximum of six rounds (on four of those cards), the majority five, and some as few as three. The 7-3 cards of two of the judges were themselves outside what anybody - even the Polish fans on the board - had, and the card giving Johnson only a single round was among the worst of the year.
Didn't watch the fight, unfortunately. But i hear that a lot had Johnson and that he should at least have got the draw. I myself made a bet on Johnson as i believed even an old Johnson could be too much for Skoglund whom i don't rate very much - he will very soon be exposed! But i think that the reason why he was robbed is that Skoglund is currently one of the top names of the Nordic Fight Night events which means he is a Sauerland cash-cow, and a loss at this point would be catastrophic.. It's the same story in a lot of countries..
The card was a triple-header meant to showcase both Nielsen brothers as well as Skoglund. Micki Nielsen completely dominated Gusmyr Perdomo but took him the distance (remember, the greatest living Danish boxer managed to stop Perdomo in four and that was down at super middleweight coming off a year layoff) and Patrick Nielsen did the same to Lukasz Wawrzyczek (similar name but no relation to fellow Pole and Povetkin victim Andrzej Wawrzyk) - so both of their stock remained neutral or crept slightly up ...but Skoglund's plummeted. Johnson at times was having it all his way, bossing the kid around. Neither of the brothers is a world beater (Patrick already stepped up and lost to Chudinov, and he is significantly better than Micki) but their ceilings are higher than Skoglund's. He will be exposed, soon. Truthfully he might not even be top 40 h2h at light heavy.
I know, and i agree 100% with you, neither of the Nielsens will come anywhere near Kesslers level, ever! It's a bit sad to see, as a dane, that those two are the future of danish boxing.. I thought Skoglund looked promising 10 fights ago, but he hasn't developed since, he brawls too much, gasses out, forgets his gameplan. He's a tough, strong guy, but that's not really enough to come far in the game..
