Actually while watching Froch/Abraham I went from 80-90 percent sure Pavlik would knock Abraham out in 8-10 rounds, to 100% certain he would stop him in 5-7 rounds. Anyone who actually makes the outrageous claim that Froch is "more skilled" than Pavlik needs to find a new sport to follow.

honestly, I think Johnson has the metal to beat Froch.

Unlike Abraham, Johnson knows how to get inside a jab.

The only thing is, what happens when Froch clocks Johnson with a right hand on the temple? Is Johnson the Drained gonna be able to take it? This ain't 175lbs anymore. I think Froch can take Johnson's punches, and that if Johnson stops him it'll be stamina related. Froch has good stamina but not great. Johnson will make him work.

My official pick is Johnson by decision.

Froch is more skilled than Pavlik bruh. But not more skilled than Glen Johnson

Johnson's style matches up well with the long lanky yet slow style of Froch.

Dude I've known you since becoming a member here and have respected your analysis until now.......
Pavliks basic skillset trumps any goddamn thing Froch brings to the table. How this can be debated is troubling.

Nevermind the fact that Andre Dirrell dropped, utterly outclassed and beat Arthur Abraham. It's more than obvious that AA hasn't recovered from the defeat. Yet somehow Froch is heralded as being some Muhammad Ali...Andre Dirrell ruined Abraham and Froch picked up the pieces.

Pavliks straight punching, workrate, and power would have Froch asleep by the 10th round. Bet the farm.

Both can't hold a candle to Glenn Johnson. When you box the sports best for 20 years you acquire something called intelligence.....
Glenn Johnson will starch Carl Froch.

Clinton woods is long lanky slow and a powder puff puncher. Glenn looked awful against him on 2 occasions..

When it's over you'll wish you would've gone with your gut.

This is Glenn Johnsons last hurrah....Expect him to trump any previous accomplishments. The Road Warrior owes himself and us nothing less. I have no doubts on him delivering. I even have a feeling I underestimate the magnitude of how he will perform. Let it be known that Froch is already looking past Johnson.......That marks the end.

I see no one being stopped and the safest bet is Froch by decision. It would be great for Glen to pick up a win over Froch but his fight with Green didn't tell us enough for us to make strong predictions on him beating Froch. He looked fine but that was Green of all people(no disrespect to him but he's pretty lacking), Froch is WAY better. I think as long as Glen is really fine with the weight then he doesn't get stopped and if he gets close to being stopped then I'm sure he'll use his caginess to survive to go to the decision. Froch most likely will outhustle Glen and that's how I see the fight going.

Thanks for the pedantic reply, however i think you know what i mean. A fighter can still look terrible and win. Remember woods is shite grade c. Johnson looking awful against him win or loose made me think Glenn is very average.

Which guy throws 50% of his jabs off the front foot, Froch or Pavlik?

Which guy out jabbed a close to peak Jermain Taylor?

Could a half drunk, hung over, weight drained and dehydrated Froch land 31% against Martinez, including 45% of his power shots? I think not.

I think your confusing balls and heart with actual "boxing fundamentals."

Both Pavlik & Froch have lots of heart but I agree that Pavlik was the better boxer-type. He had a strong jab and right hand and even used them well against Martinez in the middle rounds.

I respect Glen and it would be amazing if he beat Froch but the fact remains, his last fight didn't tell us enough.
