I'd rather boil my nuts in hot water than to see Hopkins grapple with Joe for 12 rounds again.....On that note I'd rather see Hopkins-Johnson2 and Dawson-Calzaghe
the fame of his opponent doesn't matter. after all joe sold 35k tickets fighting peter manfredo. i just found it amusing that johnson is deluding himself thinking he's well known over here. kinda like when HBO (i think it was them) tried to portray winky wright as some sort of superstar in europe after his time spent fighting over here.
Wow, you're thinking abit too deeply on this one...Granted the entire country doesnt know him but to the casual boxing fan Glen Johnson is known better than about anyone else at 175.....Why does such a harmless statement inspire obvious anger with you?
...all serious boxing fans would know both Johnson and Dawson, but casual fans would be much more likely to know Johnson than Dawson, right? You would accept that you don't have to be a massive fan of boxing to know Johnson, whereas you need to be pretty serious about boxing to know Dawson... ...all the man was saying; he didn't mean he was as famous as Bruno or Tyson in England, did he?
The man is 39 and working his butt off to remain a serious threat to anyone, and he manages it. It's obvious he is frustrated by the fact he was never given as much respect as he deserves and that he's not considered a big name to the extent that he should, these days, so it's easy to see why he would exaggerate like that...Calzaghe himself sometimes comes up with similar comments for similar reasons. :good
at the moment i'm not so sure considering chad's name has been thrown around a fair bit by the big national newspapers and the bbc have ran a few articles on him calling out calzaghe. johnson on the other hand has not been linked in the mainstream british media to a potential battle with calzaghe since the weekend. but it doesn't matter, joe has reached a level of fame now in the UK that he could fight me on saturday night and he'd do good business in cardiff. joe should STFU in all honesty. the bloke makes an arse of himself everytime he opens his mouth these days.
Everybody wants a piece of Calzaghe's money and Joe needs one of them to make any amount of money. I wouldn't disrespect Glen but Joe doesn't prove anything by facing him and beating him, not even if he agrees that he has "unfinished business" with this guy. Joe needs to seat down and see where's the biggest money and the most glory - Dawson, Hopkins, Kessler, Pavlik, Abraham. Jones, Tarver and Johnson are out of the question at this point and in my opinion, otherwise Joe can even fight Carl Froch or step up to CWT or HWT to face David Haye and avenge Macca.
