Glenn johnson has the style to give Carl froch hell

Froch didn't come off too bad against the likes of pascal with fighting on the inside. I think you've got high expectations of Johnson. He's fighting a big natural super middle, and he's coming down from light heavy.
I expect froch to dominate on the outside, coming in with 2-3 punch combos on the inside occasionally. He will make the older man chase the fight. This is what will win Carl the fight.

 

The Froch of the Abrahms fight can outbox Glen but Glen will come to fight for every round. Never count him out until the bell rings because he'll keep ont rying.

 

This will be a war.

 

Froch is a better boxer than you give him credit for. If Froch wants to fight Johnson on the outside, he will. And if it goes to a war i think Glenn is gonna get beaten up. This isn't a weight drained Allan Green who was never any good to begin with. Froch is a career super - middleweight and a world class one at that. He is fitter, stronger, has better stamina and more powerful i think.

Johnson could well 'do a Kessler' and boss Carl on the inside, I'd say Johnson on paper is more than capable. He has a respectable dig, I can't see him stopping Frochy by any means.

Much as I respect McGrains opinion, can't see Carl turning the trick either. 115-113 Froch, in an absolute war. He needs to mix up his approach between his awkward angled jab, caginess, and throw caution to the wind as we know he can do and punch out rounds.

Gonna' be a great fight IMO, rooting for Frochy, expect him to do it but would not be completely surprised if Johnson pulls it off.

 

Going to toe to toe with Johnson will be the wrong way to fight against Johnson, Froch will need something very special to stop Johnson, Johnson I believe has more chance of stopping Froch. Can't think of the last time Johnson has been hurt in the ring, but I remember Froch getting put down against Taylor (Johnson probably hits just as hard as Taylor).

Froch needs to box in and out.

Johnson is a beast.

Calzaghe ducked him for years.

He knocked Roy Jones cold.

And only got stopped when inexperienced against Hopkins.

Its a war - and both men - are getting battered -

But froch is younger and fresher.

So I go for Froch.

 

Granted I havent seen much of Johnson but can you honestly see him keep up with Froch for 12 rounds. Froch just doest stop coming forward.

 

Hopkins hurt Johnson on multiple occasions, he is not indestructible.

 

You mean Johnson doesn't stop coming forward? Johnson pressures his opponents and is in their face for 12 rounds. Froch will have to pull something special out the bag to win decisvely. Johnson is a tricky experienced fighter, he is relentless = dangerous fighter.

 

not an easy fight for froch.

froch does need to adjust and work on his defence a bit,have his hand a bit higher,use head movment,feint a bit.

improve his balance and movment more,improve his control of range more,use his full reach of his long straight jabs and straight combinations.

He has to take it to johnson,but in a smart way,he has to set the pace and make johnson uneasy with being pushed above a pace he normally fights at,and make johnson frusrtated,make him work to land,and punish him for coming on the inside to fight froch.

Froch is at his natural weight,he has a great chin and great conditioning,he has great stamina,and has solid power and heart.

Froch has long reach and really powerful stinging jab that may make opponents re consider jumping in on him,froch also has brilliant body shots and uppercuts.

Should froch prepare well,stay focused and follow his gameplans,then he will pull off the win,a fight that is probably tougher than the expect final fight vs ward.
