Didn't seem unprofessional with his opinions to me? Everytime he was asked for his prediction he was never derogatory about froch he just said he thought groves would win, for pretty much the same reasons as other people were picking groves. Getting a fight prediction wrong is not incompetence.

 

Glenn McCrory put his hands up and admitted he got it wrong on several occasions. He never talked down Froch or tried to make excuses for himself. In fact he conducted himself in a 100% professional manner after the fight. Not sure what the OP is talking about here.

 

Glen has been very unprofessional in all of this, especially behind the scenes

Its okay picking a winner, but pundits are supposed to be neutral, Glen made it clear he was rooting for Groves big time

 

Why should he be neutral? You are confusing pundits with referees and judges.

There is nothing wrong with him giving an opinion but sometimes he chats so much crap. The articles written on Mayweather from him have been disgraceful. His a hater.

 

Mccrory is paid to give his opinion that's all he has done

Grown up watching boxing from my dads dvd collection always thought jim watt
Was really good at his job but over the last few years he seems to be on the slide and his totally wrong scoring of froch / groves 2 smells of a man just towing the company line

TV's fake. They get folk to give "opinions" contrary to the consensus just to make fights appear more competitive than they really are.

Bit like these large companies post fake "positive" reviews of their crappy goods online to even out all the negative ones.

Personally I do find the great lummox a tad boring, but I'd much rather have real boxers who've walked the walk in the studio than boxing journos, tv presenters etc..

 

It was a genuine 50 50 fight ffs. Having 1 opinion or the other is not incompetent at all.

 

Allowed his dislike for Frochs' brother to cloud his judgement.

 

Respect mccrory for his prediction when everybody else didn't have the bottle to back against froch not because they all believed he would win but because they were matchroom fighters/panel etc. Your not telling me that no one but mccrory thought groves would win it going in especially after the first fight. Most people had it a 50/50 fight but nearly all of them went with froch, the only one i know that went with groves was mcrory. At least he wasn't scared to say what he believed however wrong it turned out to be.

The one that went down in my estimation was jim watt. Embarrased himself the other night. I get that he didn't credit froch with anything the first fight, i can fully understand froch fans being annoyed with him...but i honestly dont think it was downright bias. Not to someone that follows boxing...i think he was as shocked as most of us were at how easy groves was dealing with froch and jim's biggest problem was he got carried away with it. But the other night i thought he was just biased and he was always going to be...weather it was to overturn the first fight or matchroom had had a word or whatever...it dissappointed me no end. I often find myself disagreeing with jim's analysis...but he does bring passion...outside of his analysis he's not that bad a commentator - saying that its pretty much a big requirement of being a commentator. But it was particularly poor and a bit shameless from him the other night in my opinion.
