Yeah, I noticed this fight seemed to be the most significant on a slow Sunday. It's tough to know how good Porras actually is without knowing the exact context of how his opponents fit into the southeast Asian scene, but...it looks like what would be called a padded record over here. There's a bit of video available, but they don't exactly show him against killers. Here is his 23rd fight against someone making their pro debut. atsch [yt]tjFZlhMM0bE[/yt] A year earlier, this guy was 8-12 with 7 knockout losses (now 8-14 with 9...) [yt]hTUbrsvxWOU[/yt] His best win seems to be this one for the WBO Pacific Youth 118lb title (but this is only highlights): [yt]E6TH9QTez3A[/yt] That Indonesian fellow in the last vid has at least been in with some world-ranked opposition (Ciso Morales, Mud Duangpetch, Boom Boom Bautista, Leon Moore) but has lost every time. Porras looked pretty wild against him, but to be fair it was early in his development. He also appeared to be outworking and outpunching him...but again, it's only HL. Porras' last loss in 2008 is weird. It's an 11-rounder, and the points totals aren't whole integers. Scores were: 107.5-104.5, 108-105.5, 107-104 WTF is wrong with Thai judges? :blood There's no "and a half" provision in the ten point must system. That PABA title he unsuccessfully challenged for has a pretty interesting lineage. Poonsawat (a good boxer) held it for almost 5 years, and then that Na Rachawat guy held it for another 4. Then all of a sudden it has changed hands like 8 times in a year (with Na Rachawat regaining it twice). :think
Saludar is better than this kid. Sonsona also from general Santos was rocked by Saludar body shot in Sparring.Sonsona needs to work on that Jab i still think he needs a bit of time to work on his Boxing skillz.
