    Round 2

van Roosmalen is walking forward, looking to open up with hooks and superman punches with the right while closing the distance, but getting countered with combos of fist, knee and foot by Aimsiri. Nice right jab by Aimsiri, using smooth footwork anytime he isn't loading up a powerful front kick or a flying knee with his rear leg. van Roosmalen throws a few leg kicks on the way in and manages to score a nice uppercut. van Roosmalen spamming the right hand, grazes with it and then whiffs. Thigh kick by van Roosmalen missed, counter roundhouse kick by Aimsiri scoring.

    10-9 Aimsiri

    20-17 Aimsiri

    Round 3

van Roosmalen is patiently tanking his way through a minefield of front kicks to his breadbasket and side kicks slashing into the right hip. van Roosmalen getting closer, applying steady pressure, and throwing an uppercutting shoeshine into Aimsiri's sternum. van Roosmalen is trading short leg kicks with Aimsiri, both landing a few inches above the patella, tenderizing each other's thighs. Left hook on the ribs by van Roosmalen as he falls into a clinch with Aimsiri.

    10-9 Aimsiri, but MUCH closer

    30-26 Aimsiri

    Round 4

Aimsiri working those step-through left front kicks as though he were trudging in snow-boots through a New England blizzard's aftermath. van Roosmalen has the in & out pattern scouted, and is checking some of the kicks by raising his left knee to absorb them on his ankles or shins, also keeping his guard up to block Aimsiri's southpaw 1-2. van Roosmalen scratching the chest of Aimsiri with his punches after walking him down, tapping with the jab, and meeting him almost kick for kick.

    10-9 van Roosmalen, very close

    39-36 Aimsiri

    Round 5

van Roosmalen is hurling right hands, and takes a dusting of tripled up jabs to his face and gets kicked in the gut. Aimsiri backing into the ropes, ducks a three piece combination of power shots from van Roosmalen, and steps off the ropes by pushing in a hard left front kick dead center. van Roosmalen is getting lit up by straight backfoot counters thrown in fluid combination as he steps forward, a few getting through and thumping him on the breastplate and the rest clanging against his forearms, at which point Aimsiri steps back and lines up a front-kick. van Roosmalen tries kicking with him but just gets his leg swept aside in midair. van Roosmalen rushes in at the warning ten second clap and tries pounding in some hooks but Aimsir with some quick lateral stutter-steps leaves him confused enough to not pull trigger until he collides with him in a clinch.

    10-9 Aimsiri

    49-45 Aimsiri

    Official cards:

    50-45 x3

    UD for Aimsiri, cool.

Been the clearly better man (and looked the far more well-rounded fighter) on both occasions IMO.

Yeah and made the far better adjustments. Did a better job of shutting Van Roosmalen down who could hardly get off at all for the first two rounds. I laughed when they mentioned that Van Roosmalen was quoted as saying that he doesn't like to fight Thai's because the matchups aren't very exciting - Nothing at all to do with them having the beating of you?

Kiatmookao has clearly established himself as one of the best kickboxers in the world with this win. Right up there with Sittichai, Verhoeven and Petrosyan P4P.

Seems to have a decent chin on him, too - else was doing a hell of a job bluffing about it, the way he confidently let his feet & hands go with counters even while inside range for van Roosmalen (who if nothing else is a big, strong dude... in fact, are they both really natural "featherweights" or did RVR cut from a higher division? Or did Aimsiri move up from a smaller one?) ...not that he really ever tempted fate by letting van Roosmalen connect on anything huge.

He's fought as high as Welterweight. But in Glory has largely campaigned at Lightweight(before losing the title to Sittichai) and then dropped down to Featherweight winning the belt and defending it a few times before dropping it to Kiatmookao this past weekend(obviously lol)

In a post-fight interview he complained about having a bad weightcut although it's hard to know how much of this is actually true or just an excuse for the poor performance. He did look a fair bit bulkier, probably wanted to to bully the smaller Kiatmookao but that didn't go too well!

Kiatmookao has competed at Featherweight and Lightweight as well, as a Kickboxer anyways. In his original sport of MT he's campaigned at all sorts of weight classes(as one would expect given the length he's spent competing in it)

Take it he's going to gather up his wounded pride and mosey on to heavier pastures, then? I don't think anyone needs to see a rubber match. Aimsiri certainly doesn't owe him one, having to beat him twice over to get the belt... he can now start taking on guys his own size.

Caught between a rock and a hard place.... Sitthichai is still the top dog at the weight and would school him again

Yeah as far as I know. He's only been a serious contender at Lightweight and Featherweight. And TBF despite some controversial results has carved out a very good career with a deep resume of top wins.
