Glove weight

    someone posted on another thread that boxers use 8 oz. gloves...is this true??? and what weight do the amateurs use?

    our Am's in the US use these ringside competition gloves and they weigh 10 oz's for those under 156 lbs and 12 oz's for any1 heavier.

    minimum to 135lbs use 8oz, 135 and up use 10oz

    i remember during the williams vs margarito fight they said that in CA anything up to middleweight is 8 oz? :huh different rules for different states?
