i need a pair of gloves other than my winning to hit the bag with. I intend on sparring with my winning gloves because they will protect my partner but when i hit the bag or the mitts i want to feel that power. Any advice on good bag gloves that are under $50? My budget would be around $70.
also what oz is good? my winnings are 14 oz. and before you ask yes i am allowed to use 14 oz because i'm about 120 and the gloves are winnings, there like pillows on your hands can't really hurt the partner unless you really get one in good.
Personally I use Twins for bag and pad work, I think they are a Muay Thai brand but they are fine for boxing and are used quite commonly and would fit into your budget I think. 10 oz gloves should be fine
What a out there training gloves th lace ups. Are they any good? I see some guys at my gym weraing it seems to be a compact nice glove
Agree with the other guys Twins. A great quality long lasting leather glove at a ver reasonable price. They'll last you for ages. If your after something similar to Twins but sexier I recommend Boon, very very beautiful gloves, feel better in the hand and are slightly better quality for a similar price. JDK, gloves made for MT are more reinforced around the wrist and have slightly heavier padding on the back of the glove and sometimes round the wrist to help absorb some of the sting of kicks. This makes them perfect for bag work if you like a smaller glove like a 10oz.
:good gotcha .. I've never tried Twins before or even seen them at the gym so I'm unfamiliar with their specialization. I always use 16oz for heavy bag since usually they're well padded with proper wrist support. 12-14oz for pads/double end bag and back up to 14-16oz for sparring. Have a pair .. very well padded. Great for all around type of work. Last I checked, they were well over $100 though. A bit out of price range for OP
Yes I think I spent $115 on them - pricey indeed but they've held up better than Ringside IMFs, Grants, or just about any other gloves I've owned. The padding, wrist protection and thumb slot are AMAZING.
I use Fairtex 10oz baggloves for bag work. I dont like the feel of things when i use heavier gloves on the bad.
this....they stole my cletos a month ago so i replaced them with these...i like these better ran me $90
