Why? they wouldn't be elite or prove anything either. Sink or swim for Usyk well see what he's made of.
Exactly, beating ranked fighters that you're clearly superior to means nothing. If you're an elite fighter it would take an elite fighter to have a chance, no
You don't think his pro game would be better prepared by fighting, say, Drozd and Edwin Rodriguez? Take out someone like them, and I'd make him 95% certain favourite vs Glowacki, instead of marginal.
I'd say Muller, Venter and Brewer were top50 when he fought them but I get what you're saying. I wouldn't mind seeing him against a guy like McKenzie or Afolabi too.
Too early for a fight of this caliber, Usyk like I said in my own thread needs to build his legend some more before capturing legit title, I'd prefer hm take on a few Arslan, Mckenzie or Maccarinelli level guys first, that being said, Usyk is a bad style clash for Glowacki (and for the record, everyone else) he should be able to stop him late.
It's a huge step up in class for Usyk and yes it would've been better if he had fought a couple of top 10-15 guys before taking this fight. Glowacki is a very good fighter and is tough, skillful and he clearly packs a big punch. But Usyk is a special talent and he should be able to win a points decision or stop Glowacki late. Glowacki will test him though and he will be dangerous right up until the end. I think there's more chance of Glowacki getting stopped than there is of Usyk doing so seeing how he was stopped x 3 in the amateurs, 2 of them by huge punchers up at SMH though, and dropped heavily by Huck and in dire trouble, albeit Huck does have very heavy hands, and momentarily hurt by Cunningham too. Like I said, Glowacki's stoppage loses in the amateurs were up at SHW against naturally bigger men - David Price KO'd him in 2 and the late Islam Timursiev stopped him in 1, both of whom had devastating power so no shame in that really. AFAIA, Usyk has never been stopped and it's not like he hasn't fought any much bigger top quality opponents who could bang seriously hard as well.
I think Korobov stopped Usyk when he was a little pup, but I couldn't find any details on it. He was 19 and it was a RSCO3
