Brutal fight. G-Man definitely had the power to stop Marv. Tremendous head and body puncher that hasnt been seen in that division since. But this is MARVIN HAGLER we are talking about, the greatest and toughest MW of all time (my opinion only). Marv is the logical choice because of how proven he is, but Gerald is a f*cking nightmare for anyone on his day. A serious threat when on-form.
McClellan gets a bit overrated. He basically beat Julian Jackson a couple times in the only way a fight between those two could end. Mugabi was well past it when McClellan stopped him. No, he couldn't stop Hagler. See Obel, Sibson, Scypion, Lee, Roldan etc, etc. for the outcome. Hagler boxes the **** out of this guy. Swallows a couple tough shots and stops him in 8 or 10 rounds.
All McClellan had was a big right hand. Hagler is not falling for that cr ap. He systematically beats G.M. into submission.
I guess that's true.............AND he did beat the legendary Jay Bell. Convincingly too. Guess I forgot that.
McCellen was a wasted talent and a sad story .. he got rid of Steward, drank his own Kool Aid and spiraled in a tragic direction .. that being said, based on what we saw, I see Hagler being far tougher, more talented and durable than Benn ..
Wrong. He had one of the best left handed body shots in history, and a wonderful combination of that and a right upstairs.
