Im no huge taylor fan but im glad hes decided to fight on and not give a **** what people think, hes proving hes a fighter and hes gonna fight and not quit. It's time armchair fans stop picking fighters apart, he knows the risks and dangers but he also knows the glory and hes got another shot now. Its his life on the line
if that article on the front page is accurate, dibella is dropping him because he does not believe jermain should continue to fight
Exactly, this guys own hometown was tearing him down, fans belittled him everywhere. Prayed hed lose 1 day They Threw him a Parade The Next they call him a Bum on the Radio. But Look at this Guy? He fights on.
He's a fighter through and through. He put his name on the dotted line, he'll soldier through to the bitter end of the group stage even if he drops a decision to Ward and has literally nothing to gain in facing even a beltless Kessler (assuming Kessler loses to Froch, which is a long shot). How anybody as a boxing fan can not be 110% behind Jermain Taylor at this point is incomprehensible to me. :deal
Might have something to do with the way HBO ripped off better fighters in Hopkins and Wright to push this guy. :yep
That was then. That's in the past. I was every bit the skeptic you were when he was being built up, and his middleweight title "defenses" against welterweights were still jokes (and he damn near lost the one to Spinks). It's been since hitting rock bottom that he's begun to win me over (circa the Pavlik rematch). He has demonstrated in that time that he's got a ton of heart to match his natural talent, even though he's still never shown the mental discipline and stamina to reach his full potential (and probably never will). Bury the hatchet, man. The HBO hypejob tune is played out. He doesn't even appear on HBO now. You need to learn to accept that things, and people, and circumstances - change. It's a dynamic world. Open your mind, and your heart.
:rofl:rofl:rofl Sorry man - nice try. But when it comes to boxing, I guess you're just more forgiving than I am! But then, I'm probably a tad older and more set in my ways. There is something about ATG fighters like Hopkins and Wright getting screwed that just sticks in my craw.
Normally a fighter in Taylor's position I would advocate retirement, but against Abraham he didnt look like a shot fighter, he was just very predictable with leaky defense against a very strong fighter.
respects to jermaine. i knew he would give Bhops huge problems and had a feeling he'd be too much for Bhops. i still think bhops beat him that first time, but nevertheless, jermaine had a good run. he can't do more than 8 rounds no more. at least with everyone he's been competitive, but abraham is the first i've ever seen anyone dominate taylor and then knockhim out. and it was a one punch ko, not a combo like with pavlik or froch.
Much respect to Jermaine because he is a warrior, I think he will fight much harder now that he sees how well Ande Ward did against Kessler and even though Andre Dirrel lost he still fought well, imo this will give JT some more confidence even though he has not been the same since Pavlik
how in the hell would u know when i was impressed with taylor? i always have been a fan of taylors..so again u are wrong .
i hope taylor does bounce back from those 2 KO's he recently received...but lets be honest...if taylor couldn't beat wild-man froch...theres no way in hellllll he'll beat andre ward...ward is a beast and a half
