    Kessler: I'll smash Calzaghe!

"I actually fear that Calzaghe will do all match spoiling efforts to try to block me out of the game," says WBC/WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (39-0, 29 KOs) . "So I´ll obviously have to face him the hardest way of all and smash him within the distance." Now just 12 days away from the much anticipated super middle triple unification clash with fellow undefeated WBO reigning Joe Calzalge on November 3/4 at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff), Kessler has heated up the verbal assault. "Calzaghe is going to use every effort and any trick to avoid me in clean fighting," commented Kessler. "From first bell I´ll be prepared to beat my way out of infighting in a very rough way. I expect Calzaghe´s chin to take my first punch and also the second. But take my word, the third one will explode him to stagger - and the fourth will stop him and the fight as well...!"

    I LIKE THIS GUY ALOT!!!

What do you think he means by saying Calzaghe "will do all match spoiling efforts" to block him out of the game?

I expect Calzaghe to do a lot of 'hit then hold' **** combined with a lot of lateral movement. I'm sure you'll see him try and flurry towards the end of rounds after keeping it a boring hold-fest for the first 2 and a half minutes.

For Kessler, all it will take is ONE GOOD RIGHT HAND.:yep JC can win a bunch of rounds on the slap meter the judges will have, but once that killer 1-2 lands, I expect to see Joe go down.

"From first bell I´ll be prepared to beat my way out of infighting in a very rough way." See what Kessler says here? Its called an uppercut, Mikkel. Learn it fast & use it on Joe during infighting!

basically kessler is saying he wants to fight from long range and he thinks calzaghe wants to make it an infight, and that he is prepared for that and will fight fire with fire .

    Jesus.

Watch Joe Calzaghe vs Mario Veit for exactly whats going to happen in the fight.

Mario Veit and Mikkel Kessler have identical styles. Both tall, rangy, upright european fighters with good jabs and punch very straight.

And dont say OH YOU CANT COMPARE KESSLER TO VEIT, KESSLER IS A LOT BETTER. Sure, Kessler IS a lot better than Veit. But he could be a million times better at the things I just said, and it wouldnt make a difference because Kessler is made for Joe.

Kessler cant fight on the backfoot, and he cant fight on the inside. Which incidentally is what Calzaghe does best.

Calzaghe has fantastic adaptability where as Kessler has been carbon-copy same over every single one of his fights.

What nullifies a good jab ? A southpaw with a high-left hand guard.

Its Joe Calzaghe all the way.

Well said. That's one of the most convincing arguments I've heard. Last week I dreamt that Calzaghe lost by 2nd round TKO after twisting his knee following a Kessler right hand. Last night I dreamt that Kessler battered Joe to an 11th round loss. I guess I should wake up and apologise :yep

The same slow, shot Beyer that telegraphed kessler's straight-right for the entireity of the fight ?

If that was against anyone with an ounce of speed Kessler would have been in trouble.

Kessler can fight on the backfoot - watch Andrade fight. Calzaghe can't fight on the outside :deal

He means that Calzaghe will do whatever he can (grab, hold a.s.o.) to make the fight go the distance so he (Calzaghe) can get handed a hometown decision.
