Did you see my side by side resume breakdown above? Throw out their controversial title victories and I can't see a case for Bika having better wins.

I didn't, I just read the first few posts. Ngoudjo and N'dam N'jikam always looked like noticeably better boxers to me than Takam or Bika regardless of resume. I think by the time N'dam N'jikam's career is done he will be the greatest.

Ngoudjo might be the unluckiest African boxer since Quartey.

Since there's no conceivable way that anyone could make a viable case of N'dam legitimately winning that fight over Murata, I'm inclined to throw that result out when considering this topic. Worst decision that I've seen this decade. By some margin.

Since the Bika-Periban fight was a close, either-way kind of decision as opposed to being an outright robbery, I give Bika the edge. Ngoudjo doesn't linger far behind based on quality of perfomance, while Takam comes in fourth due to a lack of a notable win that matches what the other three have on their resumes.

I'm going to watch and score N'Dam vs. Murata soon...and like I said I did actually have Bika just edging Periban but a lot of folks had it the other way and I can see a few of the rounds I gave Bika going the other way. He looked like ass that night.

Drew, if you threw out both and just based it on their next best five, wins #2-6, whose resume do you prefer?

Oh man, I totally forgot about heavyweight trial horse Frederick Kassi? Remember him? Roared off the dogeared pages of relative obscurity in the "failed prospects" binder (losing twice at the hands of journeymen with double-digit losses) to, in the span of 3 high profile TV fights, go life and death with a dangerous contender and then get robbed against two more? Well, he is based in New Orleans but is of Cameroonian provenance. He is probably the honorable mention #5 active p4p in the diaspora.

He actually serves the same function as Takam, just down a rung, come to dwell on it. Tough guys that lack the intangibles to be world beaters themselves but have enough to be "truth serum". Takam is a guy you must be A- minimum to beat. Kassi is a guy that will expose you if you're C+ or worse, might beat you in the low to medium B range, but if you comfortably get past him safe to say you are solid B+ material.

Takam vs. Kassi would be fun while it lasted, actually...for the vacant Cameroonian-born heavyweight title, and the right to earn one more payday getting UD'ed by a top 5 guy. (or kayoed by Joshua)

I'd love to see that fight. Good post on Kassi before as well, certainly a skilled operator for a heavyweight. Shame he's been robbed a few times as well as just being matched tough period. He basically has no momentum, which is a shame.

Ends in a late KO for Takam, however, unquestionably. They are the same age with roughly the same overall level of well-rounded ability, but Takam is just a little better in each area (particularly chin & power), boasting 1½" of height and 6" reach on Kassi as well.

    I'm going with, p4p all-time:

    1) N'Dam N'Jikam
    2) Bika
    3) Ngoudjo
    4) Takam
    5) Jean-Marie Emebe (twice challenged for the WBA light heavyweight title in the 1980s)
    6) Louis Pergaud Ngatchou (fought a bunch of contenders at light heavy, cruiser, and heavy in the 70s and 80s with middling success, never contended himself)
    7) Kassi
    8) Bessala
    9) Lontchi
    10) Romarick Ngoula (29 year old prospect based in Brooklyn, debuted in 2015 and has gone 10-0 with nine kayos of tomato cans...easily has room to climb this list if he doesn't go bust)

FWIW as of now Boxrec has Ngatchou as #1 all-time. Of course, they don't list anybody on the poll under the nationality heading as being from Cameroon, but they do have Kassi... even though, like all of them, he lives in and is based out of another country and has for his entire pro career. Go figure.

Here is Ngoula walking down 4-0 (4) counter-punching southpaw prospect Javonta Charles in sparring at the Mayweather gym.

Based on that I'd pick Ngoula to spark Charles in a real "0 must go" pro match...especially since the latter got KTFO a few times with the headgear removed in both AIBA Pro Boxing and WSB (regular amateur record 23-12)

As for non-sparring footage of Ngoula, there is a video of him copping a towel-throw loss in the WSB to Kazakh banger Ruslan Myrsatayev...but honestly wasn't a great stoppage. Appeared that Ngoula blew his wad and was caught with a shot that sent him momentarily jelly-legged, but he could well have recovered.

Myrsatayev is 3-0 (3) in the real professional ranks, all KO1s.
