Some people have a different idea of what prime consists of. Some have a broadened view of prime like 86-91 Tyson rather than 86-88 Tyson. I'll just ask then do you mean a fighter's peak or their prime?

honestly im gonna sound stupid but whats the dif?
il take it to mean their prime years in the sport. when inexperience and age werent a factor.

but they are histories of boxing, man! They have given more values in it and inspired the next generations of it as well. so stop mocking on them!!! for I think u can't do better as they had done.

Peak is at their highest success point....Prime is when they were at their best. I put Foreman in different...young Foreman schools old Foreman IMO. Some could argue the same with Briggs now...and especially if he beat Vitali. James Toney...when was his prime and peak.....some of the greats and weight jumpers make it a little interesting.

PRIME Lewis could not be touched. I am talking about a PRIME Lewis. Not the tired old man that got KOED by a peak PRIME Rahman or the Green Lewis who got KOED by a PEAK McCall, but a PRIME Lewis who could not ever be beaten.

Lewis career showed that he was always there to be KO'd. All of the great power punchers have some kind of a chance against him, even the smaller guys. He's a big HW for history though.

I would reserve Prime Unbeatable to guys who never got knocked out ever. Maybe lost late slipping or early learning. Lewis is always beatable...Wladimir today is dominant but always beatable as well.

I agree. Much as i see the potential of Lewis to wreck anybody (just look at what he did to Razor Ruddock if you doubt this...) Ali never got ko'd once in a career that spanned some of boxings greatest fighters ever in their peaks. Foreman got ko'd once. by Ali. Frazier fought half blind for a lot of rounds.

Im not taking anything away from the main guys now but you gotta remember the reason the greats are considered as such.

I think golden era boxing is a different thing. The old days look better in black and white cos ive seen Dempsey fights that look ridiculous now. Louis is the borderline between them days and when things got real in the modern sense.

In his era....his prime vs prime Ali.....well I know who probably won't KO who. Lewis is not a Prime Unbeatable Fighter....Ali is, like the thread started has alluded to. :bbb
