I'd favor Harold Johnson over Michael spinks and bob foster @ 175 as well

P4P is subjective, but you have the illusion in your mind past fighters always beat modern day fighters h2h and are greater.. That's not always the case.

Well think about it. Look at the gloves, the ring sizes, the number of rounds, the slow promotional progression, the increased fight schedule, the limited training equipment, etc. if a fighter can do good in a time like that, imagine if he fought in this time with advanced training equipment, modern gloves, 12 round fights, no more than 4 fights scheduled a year, air conditioned stadium etc, he'd be amazing....

Now put a modern fighter with all those advanced luxuries taken away: longer fights, 6-15 fights a year, hot stadium etc. it would be a lot harder to adapt id imagine

Ok, but styles and testing are advanced nowdays... How are we to know fighters from the past never doped?

How far in the past? Steroids didn't come out until the 1950s and until the 1980s everyone thought they were for bodybuilders.

Yeah, but their opponents had those issues to deal with as well. And those conditions favour some traits which aren't really as important these days. So guys with great stamina, toughness and recuperation would likely be less suited to this era.
