I thought it was a very good fight between two young guys who will both improve in the future

I would fancy Blackwell after yesterdays performance. Tough as anything and can give it back aswel, although a bit wild at times. Nice work to the body from him.

Give both lads credit, both of them fought their hearts out for the full 12 rounds, quality display from both, I'd watch it again.

Ryder vs Billy Joe will be great!!

Thought Saunders dissapointing.Hope it was an off night,as after his last one looked to be on the verge of big things.Obviously nowhere near Murray, who I think can do better than our other 2 against Martinez,at least going the distance.Somebodys gonna get him soon IMO,so hope its Murray. Why talk of Saunders/Eubank,one a novice pro the other already a champion with a glittering amateur career behind him?Agree that Eubank vs Blackwell could be good, possibly in a prize fighter setting?

Blackwell is very underrated, he was always touted as a decent prospect before the Murray fight, that one came to soon for him and IIRC it was at 3 weeks notice, people have to remember he was a 20 year old kid with only 8 fights and no amateur experience, also was the English champion at 19.

18 months later and he has clearly improved into a good domestic level fighter with scope for further improvement, don't be surprised if this kid goes onto do good things,
he's a real warrior is this lad.

Judging on previous BJS fights that ive seen, i would say he looked below par against Blackwell, maybe he thought he'd it would be an easy fight but for whatever reason he didnt look as good as ive seen him before.
Blackwell is very tough tho and has improved alot since the Murray fight.
Overall job done for BJS and can now look towards European title bout.

There on different levels! and Mark and Jimmy Tibbs will know this, Murray would blow him over without breaking sweat, and i mean no dis-respect to BJS when i say that.

Martin Murray is every inch the world class fighter :deal

Based on what? Being clearly outpointed by Sturm..who exactly has Murray beat to make him 'world class'

I felt Macklin was unlucky, but Murray was robbed ! :deal

Sturm did not "clearly" outpoint Murray, not in a month of Sundays, he's a technically sound well rounded boxer puncher who will at some point win a world title, I dont think he'll beat Martinez but I would never say never

Murray just threw arm punches all night, with nothing behind them, Sturm was landing the hard more affective shots and he was the aggressor, Sturm also outworked Martin.

I had it 116-112 Sturm, clear decisive win.
