At the time I wasn't really bothered about Cortez reffing of the fight. But then I saw he ref'd Hopkins v Calzaghe by the complete opposite rules it was clear he wanted the hometown boys to win. Had he ref'd them the opposite way round, Calzaghe would TKO Hopkins and Mayweather would SD or MD Hatton :nod
Floyd took about 3 rounds to figure Hatton out, after that it was a skillful breakdown and eventual KO
Have to watch Calzaghe Hopkins again, but from memory i remember that Cortez was indeed different referee that night and allowed Hopkins to clinch.and opposite to Hopkins,Ricky actually works his ass off in the clinches. And also agree with your predictions pretty much.Floyd close victory, but Calzaghe TKO over Hopkins i doubt, clear UD would be my bet 118-110 something like that. How you see Ricky faring against Khan or Brook?i think Khan would get TKO'ed,but Brook would hold his own and probably win late TKO or clearly on points.
6rounds,Ricky had good success trough 4-6.from round 7 it was all Floyd, and actually the fight changed drastically in round 7 couple of beatiful combinations by Floyd and Hatton was visibly in trouble from that point on
Ricky had good success in the 4th? What the heck, he definitely did well the 1st minute but the other 2 mins he was getting his ass beat by Floyd.
Floyd illegally rammed Hatton face-first into a turnbuckle and Cortez did absolutely nothing about it. If you slow the knockdown shot down frame by frame, you can see Floyd just standing in the corner -near that turnbuckle- with his ****-eating grin, luring in a Hatton who was unaware of his devious plan. If not for that turnbuckle, MD Hatton.
