The only thing facial damage proves is how brutal this sport is. https://img.wikinut.com/img/35l_kjj2wwwv4ah4/jpeg/700x1000/Amonsot-L-vs-Katsidis.jpeg http://oi46.tinypic.com/211nbc.jpg http://delivery.gettyimages.com/xr/...0E10EAB67FBA1F2AB862250C96DC8A55A1E4F32AD3138 https://www.ringtv.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Corrales-Castillo-I-anniv_Laham.jpg http://cdn1.thecomeback.com/queensberryrules/wp-content/uploads/sites/93/2009/12/corralesjlc.jpg
But maybe we should. If I had a fight on the street, and I send him to hospital with a broken nose, and he doesn't do any damage to me despite landing more softer shots, you better believe I'm claiming that as a victory! You would rather get hit by 100 pillow punches that do little, or 5 devastating bone crunching bombs?

When my girlfriend punched me in the face I slapped her so hard she fell backwards and couldnt get up. I WON THAT encounter despite my face being bruised.
Neither of them really looked the worse for wear, Golovkin looked a bit annoyed and Canelo looked shattered.
Facial damage is nothing more than a perception thing, every human being has a different facial bone structure and the tissue thickness is all distributed differently according to bone positioning, so it had ZERO to do with who is actually winning a boxing match. Also skin colour, capillaries, blood flow etc comes into play. If everyone's face was the same then it may mean somthin. Means **** all. Cheers
I said before the fight that GGG would be marked up more than after his bout with Jacobs but to be honest doesn't mean much
Grazing punches tend to leave more of a mark than flush punches. Going by whos face is marked up the most is dumb as well.
This reminds me of what Joe Frazier said after watching Oscar and Floyd dance for 12 rounds,,," how can you call this a superfight when neither man has a bruise after 12 rounds"
