I've no idea where anyone has got the idea from that Garcia has great boxing ability.

Can someone show me the fights that show this? From what I've seen his best wins are against a shot Morales twice, a win over a fighter with a dodgy chin in Khan & beat a well past his best Judah on points.

In none of these fights did he show great boxing ability, the only other Garcia fight I've seen is where I thought Theophane beat him on points.

 

Yes, Garcia gonna Knock Lucas out, I was gonna call it first with a thread,once I got home.

 

I can't wait for this fight!!! I think he ever earns the respect of the other first, will have the upper hand in the fight. Danny has power too just like Matthysse. Saying that, I favor Matthysse but Garcia ain't to be taken lightly.

 

Lucas always keeps his right hand up and sets his right hand up with the jab...

If you think Garcia can land more than 2 of them big inside left hooks you're crazy.

 

I think this is a great fight. Genuine 50-50 IMO, I'd favour mattysse but Danny aint no fool, he knows how to win fights.
It's 1 vs 2 in the division, who's number one is up for debate.

 

matthysse a clear favourite but...

Garcia can get the KO if he lands anything like the left hooks he landed on Khan and Morales II. I think the respective Judah fights tell us most about how this fight will go, even though Danny got the W against Judah and Lucas got the loss, it's what happened in each fights that indicates what will happen in this fight.

Judah fight shows us which guy should have the better chin - Matthysse was caught 2-3 times with good hard uppercuts but seemed totally uneffected in the mid rounds of their fight. On the other hand Judah seemed exhausted, and it was a miracle he didn't quit after the KD in round 10. Matthysse had plugged away at the body in the early rounds and it was taking it's toll (bear in mind, matthysse has since head hunted a lot more since the robberies but still goes to body when he can)

The Garcia-Judah fight showed - Garcia has serious power in his wide looping shots, and had Judah dancing in the ring several times - Although judah also had Garcia rocked to his boots and frozen on the few occasions he connected - something judah couldn't do to Matthysse. also, Garcia seemed weaker at the end of his fight (weight draining problem) - garcia is a big 140 lb'er - and Judah who usually fades badly at the back end had strong championship rounds and it was Danny who looked slow and weak. Danny also cuts up easily - a big factor if the cut happens early and the fight goes long.

For me, Matthysse has better chin and better power. e is also faster on his feet. his new head hunt early attitude brings about positives (early KOs) but also negative to be exploited (wild swinging leaving himself open for well timed counters). It boild down to who will land first and hardest. Matthysse is favourite, but if Danny does land a looping hook while Matthysse is swinging wildly, especially early when it has zip early on - I can see Matthysse being hurt - no matter how good your chin is everyone can get Knocked out and Danny has shown in his last three fights - he has everyone (khan, old fat morales, judah) badly hurt.

I'm going by Matthysse by KO or TKO within 5, maybe even a stoppage on cuts or busted face.

 

It won't be easy but yeah I agree he's the favorite and I pick him to win.

 

Yep ... I was surprised when I saw him face to face how wide he was up top. He is bigger than Broner (not just height) who seems very stocky on TV but after seeing him in the lobby after he destroyed DeMarco, I have to say I was surprised by his small stature.

Danny will probaly stop Lucas just as easy as Lucas would stop him. Don't Sleep on Danny's power but I can see how Lucas is the favorite.

This will definitely be a fight to have some casuals and non-boxing fans around for. Two prime guys both going for the KO. It might not be technically beautiful, but there will be bombs thrown and landed.

Danny will land a left hand in this fight. And if it dents Matty, he has a shot.

 

Based on the op's prediction you'd think Lucas has no arms... what about when Lucas lands? Lucas will land big bombs as well and what makes you think Garcia will keep coming forward? Zab Judah had Garcia stunned and Lucas laughed off Judah's left hand when he hit him
