I think they believe this fight might sell itself similar like Mayweather-Pacquiao did. And I think it will sell, but it obviously won't come close to the long awaited megafight. They call it the biggest fight between Mexico-Puerto Rico... Biggest fight my ass. Sanchez-Gomez and Chavez-Camacho will always be the best.

Well, you also have to consider we have gained about a 100 mil population in the U.S. alone since then. I know what you mean but as far as potential audience it is bigger.

The most important fight right now in boxing is Klitschko vs Fury.

On the real, Mexicans are the most racist people that I have ever dealt with. They treat Central and South Americans like ****(unless they look white), Caribbean's are treated with hate, Asians, Blacks, but you are right about one thing, they are benevolent to whites.

These dont sound like the words of a boxing fan to me. They sounds like the words of a very negative person.

I cant see how you cant be excited about this fight.

I think the fight will sell decent numbers.
Both fighters are well known, tried and true veterans of the sport. It's an intriguing match up where litterally anything can happen. Canelo is a huge favorite, but something is telling me in my gut that Cotto may be able to use his ring experience effectively against Canelo, as Mayweather did. Cotto is defintely no James Kirkland, and I wouldn't be surprised if Cotto catches Alvarez with a good left hook.

Either way, this should be a good fight, but it's promotions were very poorly executed which may very well be show the signs of the financial and management deficiencies in GBP and Roc Nation promotional organizations.
Or perhaps Al Haymon is just making them look like amateurs?

Luckily, the names of Cotto and Alvarez are big enough recogizable names to generate a great deal of interest. I expect the fight to do decent PPV numbers of 500-800K.

They're a little odd, they're not like other minorities or even other Hispanics. Oddly enough, they act closer to southern whites than anyone else imo.

I think the fight is badly overshadowed by all the GGG fanboy-hater polemics and the joy of Rousey getting KTFO. There's really no buzz for probably the #1 boxing event of the year.
