which is why the ratings are contributed to mainly by experienced posters. If a newbie comes in with crazy ideas that get ignored.

More worthwhile and informative then what?

Just PM the mods or add this info the "No Stream" sticky already inplace.

I guess. These days, you usually need to order the Spanish language package to get Telefutura, and while I'd like to watch the fights once in a while, I'm not going to pay $10 a month to watch a bunch of mismatches. Maybe I'd buy if they started hosting competitive fights.

Plus, pretty much every US market either has FSN or a network that carries the FSN lineup (MSG+, MASN, NESN, Sun Sports, etc.). It's just that a lot of time the boxing gets preempted by other programming. Frankly, it's a bigger deal for Top Rank Live than it is for Fight Night Club.

That isn't true. A lot of markets do, but Boston is a fairly large TV market and Comcast New England does not even have the option of FSN. There are at least a couple of other big-city markets where the same is true.

Comcast Sports Net syndicates some FSN programming (including boxing) - but usually shows it anywhere from 24 hours to a week or a month after the fact, which for live boxing fans is a bit useless.

I also never asked for Telefutura; it just came with whatever the basic bare-minimum package was (with the only buy-up additions being HBO & Showtime).

There's a middleweight bout getting underway.

Bastie Samir vs. Jacob Alvarez, 4 rounder.

Samir is 3-0 all by knockout, and Alvarez lost his recent debut by decision.

    Round 1

Samir is bullying Alvarez right away, throwing 1-2s and recklessly hooking with no respect for Alvarez's power. Alvarez is playing possum and looking to counter but isn't throwing more than once or twice at a time, wary of being countered back with the obviously thudding power of Samir. Alvarez gets shaken behind his guard by a couple of combos and is knocked from corner to corner and desperately flinging back with weaker shots. He is pummeled to the canvas against the ropes and is stopped on his knees.

Samir is no Arthur Abraham, but we do have a new puncher in the division.

This is just great. Free boxing on the internet! Finally some of these promoters are starting to get the message!

Golden Boy is pretty good about how they bring their prospects along, too - they're always fed beatable opponents, but lively enough to make it interesting if the kid slacks off.

These cards always entertain, just like the equally "low-level" Solo Boxeo shows. The main difference being that instead of listening to Spanish commentary (or muting it), we get Doug Fischer. Depending on how you feel about his insights and his voice, that can be a good thing or a bad thing.

He doesn't annoy me quite as much as Kellerman. But boxing commentators aren't what they used to be. Oh, if only there was another Al Bernstein around!

But heck, for free, I can't complain! It;s about time boxing got the message and started to try to provide free fights somehow. If this helps build interest in boxers, and the sport in general, you might see more of it. It could be like what I had when I was getting into the sport - regular boxing on free TV every week!
