Hector Serrano is listed as 5'10" (not 5'9" as it says on Boxrec) with 72" reach; Juan Garcia is 5'9" (also an inch more than BR gives him credit for) with 69".

Serrano is 13-2 and 26 years old. Garcia is 14-3 and 25 years old. Both have five knockout wins. Both have had all their losses clumped together and are trying to break their streaks.

Round 1

Serrano winds his way around the ring, using quick steps and sinuous upper body movements before throwing some sneaky jabs through Garcia's gloves. Serrano is working well with his rangy style, staying tall and dropping some jabs through the gap. Serrano is less successful when he transitions to the cross or the short left hook when he steps inside. Garcia is spotting those easily. Garcia is throwing busily, clogging the lane with his fists. Nice 1-2 by Serrano. Nice left hook to the jaw by Garcia! They trade a bit, both leaning and rolling with shots. Another nice hook by Garcia.

As pleasing as this image frozen on my screen is (of the DeWalt Power Tools ring card girl bending over with the round card held high overhead and stretching out the long milky-white expanse of midriff between her tight white shorts and skimpy red top...) I'd like to see the boxing match. :twisted:

Is this just a technical screw-up on Golden Boy's part, or did some ninja hurricane knock out a tower in California? :huh

Serrano has a bloody face, and some swelling. It looks like it's been good action all the way.

Round 6

Garcia is pushing out his jab and tapping Serrano on the half-shut eye with it, making him wince. Now Garcia throws some short looping combos coming forward. Body shot, and Serrano is hurt!! Hook to the solar plexus. Serrano is leaning forward limply and looks to be in rough shape as he tries to either grab Garcia or flee to the ropes. Garcia is just peppering him with shots and maintaining a high guard. Body shot on the belt line by Garcia. He's trying to score a body shot KO. He might just get it. Serrano is pitching forward and intentionally taking lumps around the head and shoulders to protect his lower vestiges. Big double hook to the top of the ribs by Garcia, and a hammering right cross to the face as Serrano's hands drop. Nonstop punching from Garcia, and Serrano hangs in there to survive.
