    Round 2

Malfavon is committed to the 1-2 and is now connecting with it a bit, following Kavanagh around and keeping his hands moving on the turn-step. Malfavon then switches up and leads with the right hand and brings some hooks behind it. Kavanagh steps forward to jab Malfavon back and then slides around him to flurry, mostly down low. Big left hook to the chest by Kavanagh. A six punch combo tags Malfavon on the sides of the face and the middle of the body. Malfavon keeps trying to plow into Kavanagh's face with his 1-2 but to lesser avail than in the opening minute, as Kavanagh has found a rhythm.

    20-18 Jamie Kavanagh

    Round 3

Kavanagh is very busy, working the abdomen of Malfavon and continuously bringing some short looping bombs upstairs to distract Malfavon from defending his body. Kavanagh uses good footwork, hopping on his toes and keeping Malfavon spinning in semi-circles while peppering him. Malfavon tries desperately to plant some hard right hands on the elusive Kavanagh from out of a turtle shell but is mostly trying to minimize the punishment he is forced to absorb by the quicker and busier Irishman.

    30-27 Kavanagh

    Round 4

Kavanagh is rolling on the balls of his feet into hard right hands as Malfavon covers up and looks to counter with something big while conceding the activity rate. Kavanagh gives him very little quarter with his constant movement and extended combos while in transit. Considering Malfavon's tight defense Kavanagh is fairly accurate. Malfavon meanwhile is hitting primarily air & shoulders. Hard three punch combo at short range sends saliva dribbling off the lips of Malfavon. Malfavon battles him on the inside and manages to punch through Kavanagh's offense cleanly a couple of times but largely is getting banged out, showing a good chin while Kavanagh practices every punch in the book.

    40-36 Jamie Kavanagh.

He looks good, and will be fun to watch step up.

    Welterweights are next.

    Anthony Martinez 5-0 (4) vs. Ronnie Peterson 3-3 (3)

This will be a good opportunity for Martinez to measure up against fellow prospects Frankie Gomez and Jose Benavidez - both of whom blew Peterson out in the first round.

    Round 1

Martinez immediately starts working both fists like pistons and drives Peterson right down to all fours after caving in his sternum.

That's IT. He got the job done two minutes faster than Benavidez and 90 seconds faster than Gomez.

He should punch a lot harder than those kids though. Gomez and Benavidez are still going through puberty.

Now we have more welterweights, one in their sophomore showing and one debuting.

Salvador Rios (brother of Ronnie, 1-0) vs. Marcus Robinson

    Round 1

Rios is aggressive in swarming his way in and trying to slow Robinson down with hard body shots, but the taller Robinson is catching him and pushing his arms down and making it ugly. Robinson doing more effective clinching than punching but is nullifying the attempts of Rios to get some momentum going. A few clean headshots do land on Robinson but he's able to tie Rios up quickly enough to avoid taking a succession. Rios is now getting a bit wild trying to catch Robinson before the clinch and Robinson is just waiting to tap him with his free hand.

    Round 2

Rios feints with his jab as Robinson backs away with a low left hand, poised and ready. Robinson catches Rios rushing with an uppercut despite having his back on the ropes and scrambles out of the way. Robinson is showing some slickness, slipping with the shoulder roll and again tagging Rios with a hard counter right uppercut. Rios keeps the pressure on and Robinson does pay a bit for his stance a little but is able to either outrun or smother Rios before any long combos can be strung together. Robinson misses a wild curveball right hand and Rios waits for him to pull out and nails the chin that's hanging out.

Rios 20-18 (I think the commentators have both for Robinson)
