    Round 1

McCumby is pumping his left jab and bringing some straight right hands around with nice snap and speed but is telegraphing them a bit, betraying his intentions with a little bit of a high arc from where he keeps the hand cocked under his chin. Hayes is holding his head (which is adorned with a giant braided topknot) back and pawing with his own jab, throwing a few rights to the body. McCumby waves his arms in the air and clowns a bit during a slow moment. He then rips Hayes with a big lead left hook. Hayes is very top-heavy and doesn't have the best balance on his twig legs despite having a very nicely toned upper body. As a result, McCumby is able to make him stumble a bit just by feinting at him.

    10-9 McCumby

Hayes' lazy, pawing jab is costing him a lot of points and damage. that junt has no pop, accuracy, or confidence

    Round 2

McCumby is flicking his jab, hurling overhand rights and keeping Hayes shut down for the most part except on the inside where Hayes is trying to grab and smash. McCumby for his part is shoeshining on the inside but doing most of his work at range with big sweeping hooks. McCumby ducks down and nearly gets driven to the mat with an elbow to the top of his head. Hayes is trying to make it ugly by using his upper body strength to grab and maul McCumby, but his actual punching volume was a bit too low.

    20-18 McCumby

    Round 3

McCumby is coming forward with a 1-2 that is catching Hayes (usually with the right hand clanging on the side of the head) and following up with some short hooks when he steps in behind the combo. Hayes is just looking to hook his arms around McCumby and hold. McCumby batters him to the ropes and forces the stoppage.

I don't exactly see either of these guys ever hanging with a Cunningham or Lebedev, even understanding that they're only just getting their feet wet (there are impressive debuts and then there are...this kind). CW really does have one of the dryer crops of prospects.

Trevor is exciting and will make for basically a giant Jason Litzau type - either smashing through guys without power and skill or getting KTFO himself by guys who do. TV-friendly.

Hayes...in both his hairstyle and his fighting style & output - is like a miniature Shannon Briggs...which means not TV-friendly.

Didn't see much hunger from Hayes. Some good things from McCumby though, offensively and defensively. Nice debut though.

They have little girls dressed up in Halloween costumes alongside Budweisder ring card girls, throwing candy to the patrons from the ring apron? Is that what is happening right now? :blood

    He's in the main event.

Next up is Fidel Maldonado Jr. against John Willoughby at lightweight.

19 year old Maldonado is 4-0 (4) and from Johnny Tapia's hometown.

His opponent is giving up three inches and sixteen years to the young tattooed prospect, and is 2-5 with two knockout losses.

Hopefully they handed out blood ponchos to the first row. :scaredas:

    Round 1

Maldonado begins as a southpaw. Big time power punches with both hands drive Willoughby back but the man with the losing record keeps punching back in between sloppy attempts to assemble a high guard on the fly. Maldonado keeps him on rubbery legs while patiently dispensing stiff jabs and upward backhand lefts. The corner of Willoughby stops it.
