From actually reading what happened it sounds like they got off pretty good with no punitive damages.

Canelo also plans to appeal which means they aren't going to see a dime unless Canelo cuts them a 8 million dollar check from that $15 million bonus he got from GBP

It's coming out of Canelos pocket for "personal enrichment" but GBP is off the hook

Zabala owes GBP money for legal fees

    But Canelo owes them money

Time for Oscar to give him another signing bonus

It's like me working for Google and signing a no compete clause, I can't leave them and go work for another tech company doing the exact same development. I leave Google for Amazon violating the clause of my contract. The person they come after is me, not Amazon. Since Amazon has no idea nor are they privy to the contract.

Because Canelo was the one who breached the agreement. Golden Boy Promotion didn't break any rules. Boxing has no regulatory body that overseas which boxer is bound to what promotion or what is written in each boxer's contract. If a boxer tells them he has no contract, Golden Boy Promotion will have to accept the boxers word. I'm oversimplifying this . I know they have to do their due diligence to make sure Canelo isn't under contract and it looks like Golden boys did.

Oscar will probably just pay him from the money he's going to get from ASB for his legal fees

So ASBs going to get paid with his own money  :patsch

    Oscars lawyers don't **** around
