Who else would be down to watch this? Probably not most of Mexico because gingersnap would probably get outpunched but I think it'd be a damn fun fight between two in house guys with similar styles... What do you think ESB?

not yet, in 2/3 years let ortiz become a little bigger and better, alvarez has a lot of learning to do as well, plus he will be staying at 154, he is too small for 160 and too big for 147.

I think it's a good fight, but probably a little premature right now...

They'll probably want to make more money and develop these two a little more, but I don't think there's a big size difference between them.

Best time to fight Alvarez would be now and at a catchweight... I would call this a pickem fight right now. Although i think both are gonna get better i think Canelo will improve more... Right now Ortiz has more experience and when fighting disciplined more polished, However they have similar flaws and its all about who jumps on them first. This would be a guarranteed war and a knockout. Right know Oritz might take it at WW and id favor Canelo at JM... At catchweight Pickem.. ORtiz better get him now though.

Too soon, To Quote Bob Arum..
"You gotta wait for the cake to bake" - Bob Arum
(Remember how great that worked out, But in this case it is true.)

    Let the Pac's/Mayweather's/Mosleys ect..
get out the game so the next generation can evolve.

Too soon, too soon is all stuff and nonsense. How are these guys gonna get any better or earn names until they start facing and beating topflight competition? Make the fights sooner. Make fight series. I'm tired of watching guys past their prime duke it out for millions of dollars.

Alvarez couldn't make 150 for his last fight so he'll most likely stay at 154 and Ortiz just moved up to 147 so I don't see him moving up again so soon.

This could be "10s" version of Bobby Chacon-Danny Lopez... Who were both highly touted undeafeated prospects/contenders and Lopez was a ginger like Canelo too lol!.. Both went on too be World champions and Hall of famers.... No reason the loser couldnt rebound in this fight either, and the winners status would go up (especailly if Alvarez won).. Difference is these guys are both champions and could add a title to their resume.

i like this fight but like the rest have said ortiz has to build up. we need convincing that ortiz can do well with a more complete fighter, like alvarez can be. alvarez power wasnt so ideal last fights, while ortiz has and can be a beast in the ring.
ortiz just isnt as all around yet so in time this could be competitive but theyre saving it for much later i think.

:think Worth moving Ortiz up that quickly? Personally I think hes a better rounded fighter than Alvarez and hes showed an aggression in the Berto fight that I haven't seen since a prime Oscar. I think he'd take Alvarez to be honest, possibly by stoppage.

when you rehydrate to the middleweight limit every time you fight it's not an issue.

I think he'd beat Alvarez as well.

I didn't realise he'd rehydrated that high, I knew he rehydrated more than Berto (I don't know what Berto rehydrates to normally either) and he clearly looked the bigger man.

Honestly, if Ortiz is getting so ****ing big on fight night then I think the fight had better be put on the back-burners for the sake of Alvarez. Alvarez could do with his own "Berto" before he gets in the ring with Ortiz...I'm not sure there is anyone like that at 154.
