Canelo's reputation is in the toilet right now. First the drug thing, and also everyone in the entire world knows Golovkin already beat him. Canelo NEEDS this fight, Golovkin doesn't.

Golovkin should insist on 60%. Heck, if I were him I'd also insist that Clenelo publicly admit he lost the first fight. Otherwise, GBP can kiss his Kazikstani butt.

Golovkin ought to take this, from a financial perspective it's a good deal and about the best he can hope for. Seems that all that posturing paid off as getting an extra 7.5% is good negotiating. But now's the time to take it and not be too greedy.

Credit to Canelo who clearly realizes that he needs to fight GGG again, under VADA 365, to show that he was clean in the first fight and that it really was bad meat to blame.

 

100% there something dodgy in the contract, why would they want a rushed deadline. Maybe hoping details get skipped over like drug test, rematch, judges ect.

It's nearly 3 months until the proposed fight they need to start promotion and GGG's corner is holding back the fight. It's as simple as that.

My guess is that GGG will take the fight. Too much money, probably 10X the amount he'll make fighting anyone else.

I agree with you on this, IsaL. Clen’s got a decent track record of fighting good guys. It’s for multiple other reasons that he gets so much **** from knowledgeable fans.
