Making perfect sense. GGGs resume is weak. A long string of overmatched C and B level fighters isn't impressive, that's why he isn't a real house hold name fighter. Derevyanchenko would barely be GGGs third top level opponent. Aside Canelo and Jacobs no one on GGGs resume even comes close to SDs level. You seem against this fight? If so, why?
Cool, and many think he lost to Lara and some to Trout. He was never gonna beat Mayweather at that time. That was a given.
And I can argue that DLH knows who’s a bad matchup for him. BJS, Charlo, DJ are all nightmares. GGG won the first fight easy on my card as he did on most. GGG isn’t gonna be tactical this time around. He’s gonna be aggressive. Clenelo isn’t winning the rematch unless GGG gets old overnight, which I don’t see.
I'm not against the fight, but to crown SD a top level opponent is a stretch. I don't see it. He's only had 12 fights and hasn't fought anyone notable. What am I missing here?
"GGG would be stupid turning this down".... Fighting Jacobs or BJS instead, for comparitive peanuts, would hardly be smart.
The Canelo v Khan and GGG v Brook are both similar fights demonstrating that Canelo and GGG won those fights based on their size, not boxing ability. GGG v Canelo then showed that Canelo's boxing ability was even worse than predicted, as GGG was not only outbrawling him but outboxing him too. BJS would win 12 rounds against Canelo. It wouldn't be too different from the lemieux fight tbh.
Without any doubt, Derevyanchenko is a top level opponent. But would he beat Golovkin? I doubt it, unfortunately...
Which is why BJS tweeted that he was never offered a fight by DLH and GBP. Same with Charlo. DLH is full of shat. The only offer was made to DJ and it was a total low ball. I read on Boxing Seen that he wasn’t going to accept it.
