something to point put about gbp at TV deal. they purchased the US rights for Haye vs ruiz and did nothing with it. you think at the very least they would have shown highlights on the hopkins vs jones jnr card.

They pay for a better hotel room :yep

But seriously if this is on ITV 4 it would be a bit of an embaresment for Boxing. One of it's biggest stars (on these shores anyway) will be on a minor channel at 4 AM when there is sweet fa on at the time. At least with Sky they would pump the **** out of it and get this and Mitchell-Katsidis to hell and back.

I just don't want to have to see Mitchell-Katsidis on PPV on it's own because I want to watch it but it just isn't PPV worthy on it's own. And I do love the 2 part American PPV shows they have loads of Boxing on and unlike the British PPV shows they don't miss fights.

Yeah I noticed that, I thought that wasn't the smartest of moves on their part, I'm sure it would have helped sell the Jones-Hopkins PPV if they stuck that on there.
Hopefully it gets shown on their new Telefuture series or something. I wonder if Golden Boy will ever get anything out of David Haye I.E. him actually going over to the States.

ITV4 isn't even on air at that time of the night usually, so I really can't see them dumping it on there IF they show the fight.

Sky have made next to nothing off of Khan (yes, I do have the inside track on this). If a 10.30pm slot and 'name' opponent in Barrera can't shift the units, what hope will a 3am slot, with an opponent best known in the UK for getting beaten up by Hatton have?

It's just not worth it for Sky, and Khan won't be interested in any PPV split, and Warren would be an idiot to take the standard licence fee.

But... Calzaghe made big numbers fighting Lacy at 2am. Khan's a bigger household name, I'd have thought - if he was on ITV1 at 2am then I'd see big numbers.

It was bizarre, wasn't it? But I'm sure they had their reasons.

Still too much for ITV. They want to be paid to show it.

If de La Hoya insists on an Aufwiedersien Pet marathon in the run up to the fight it could be huge. :deal

i was just thinking that. that fight was the ideal one for a intro for haye to the US public, well the maniacs who paid 50 pesos for hopkins v jones anyway so i cant understand why they would leave it alone:huh

surely warren couldnt get sky to put on katsidis mitchell (for a interim title) on ppv without khan on there. it will struggle to get 50,000 buys at most.

if this fight is being touted around for free, then it should be given to the BBC. as a once off, advertising and spreading it to the sporting public, they would make a better fist of it than ITV seem to do

Let's hope so, but I'll believe it when I see it.
