    Thats just good business sense.

Like if I had a fleet of vans selling doughnuts.....

....I'd park them out the front of police stations.

If there is a slight hope that we in the u.k. can watch one of our guys for free on a terrestrial channel, then i just hope one of the ****s at itv does the decent thing and does what needs to be done to get it. I know nothing about t.v. contracts, i just know they are ****s for not showing the froch fight live.

Why would they put such a high profile fight on ITV4???

ITV1 would get millions of viewers that time in the morning for Khan in a world title fight.... millions more than ITV4 get at any time, day or night. Sounds wierd to me.

Sounds weird because it's not right. The fight goes on ITV 1, to be repeated next day. Possible 1 and four.
Vali is being econimical with the truth. My understanding is that this is a done deal for ITV.
Where it leaves Golden Boy and Khan in the future is interesting. Word on the street is that they were told by Sky something along the lines of "Reject this and forget it in the future." Itv are mulling over an entry to the ppv world, which would make them potentially very powerful players in competition to Sky.

ITV are considering entering the PPV world?

    Really?

This will be the same ITV that are in dire financial straights?

I very much doubt they've got the rescources to fund a PPV channel.

    They definitely are.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/...looks-to-pay-per-view-to-restore-profits.html

It's in response to how much they're struggling. They've also been in talks with David Cameron, similar to Rupert Murdoch, trying to have TV regulation changed for 'competition reasons'.

It's not really PPV though is it? It's more a case of paying a subscription for ITV 2, 3, and 4 to those not watching on sky, virgin or anything like that. And to be fair, people have been on about this for ages-no more so than when Froch got the wrong end of the stick talking about an 'ITV Box Office' channel to show his Super 6 fights-in an ITV interview.

Talk of ITV going pay has been on for a year or so and it might happen eventually, but stuff like an 'ITV Box office' PPV channel is a long way off.

I'm not sure it is - they've been looking at revising their broadcast agreement.
