Smith is not your typical dumb scouser. He's actually quite smart and his ring IQ is several levels above Rocky Fielding's too.

I didn’t call him dumb and I don’t think Scousers are dumb either coz I haven’t ran enough of them to make that generalisation, not that it matters in boxing. Mayweather is seems pretty ‘dumb’ he still is an excellent boxer.

Smith has better ring IQ than Rocky for sure but his ring IQ, isn’t impressive to me. He has a rudimental defence of just tucking up, he doesn’t lead with the jab or use to set up his power punches consistently, no real head, body or feet movement.

 

I'm seeing that kid more and more like this. He is a burly little ****er. And now his arms look primate long to me. I'm sure they didn't get longer but somehow his increased mass made it look that way when he was delivering those body shots last Saturday? I dunno. Wouldn't surprise me to see him comfortable with the taller guys of better skill as he advances at or north of 160.

Well, it's an improvement over Fielding.

 

Big move if it happened. I will be honest, id expect Canelo to go running straight back to the desert for that fight, Smith is a leap up from Fielding, Canelo is a better fighter there is no doubting that but Smith isnt dumb, he knows how to use his physical advantages when he has them over an opponent and with Canelo he will. Hes ofcourse the sports biggest dirtiest cheat of all time but seeing as its fine to do it how could i possibly pick against him.
