GBP still has the TV slot advantage to build up their prospects (and please leave out James Kirkland - he's out for about 2-3 years to say the least).

And if GBP wants, they can make co-promotions with any given fighter in the world becaue of their standing at HBO...

i know they were on showtime. what i'm saying is - what exactly did GBP do to promote these fights? their banner was all over the arena, but they didn't really promote the fight.

GBP had vazquez on a few shows, and these were on HBO: larios 3, jhonny gonzalez, ivan hernandez

Right. GBP doesn't have grudges outstanding against the likes of Paul Williams, Allan Green or any other straggles like James Toney and Greg Leon. Basically GBP has a clean slate in the industry right now (the only potential issue being Don King) where as Arum has sort of limited himself in opponents.

There's no way in hell it will go down, only a while ago people thought TOP RANK was going down when Pac was rumored to join GBP, now look where it is. I like the competition from both, brings more excitement and better fights/cards. It's too difficult for either to go down.

Top Rank isnt going anywhere. Todd DuBoef runs 90% of Top Rank already, and knows what he is doing. Even when Bob finally retires or dies Top Rank will go on without missing a beat.

GBP in trouble?? I dont think so. Use you head.

De La Hoya is young and is the future of Boxing promoting, once Arum and King and done he will rule boxing. The Man has the power, backing and utimately the $.

I'm glad to hear from someone on the inside about this. It's something I've often wondered about. So you don't think Arum's departure will allow GBP to steal some of Top Rank's market share?

let's first see if DLH's prospects go anywhere

until now it's been lazy - jacobs and co v bums on PPV undercards. not a great way to develop a fighter or build their profile. you wait for the big fight and it's jacobs knocking out mexicans who are fattened up from smaller weights.

he's pretty much ruined bautista in the mad rush for more pacmen

ortiz looks promising, but has a very dangerous fight ahead of him, maidana.

It got a big promotion here in California. Which has a large hispanic community.

Whats wrong with Vasquez being on a few shows? You want him to fight on every single show? Vasquez is tough but if GBP did that. He would be dead.
